'11' flowers

Flower shop AU that I'm really excited for. I just hit 4K I didn't think I would so quickly but this chapter is edited to my standards and I just really like it so here ya go, the others will follow shortly after

"Steve what the shit, you're going for flowers again, we literally have no room for any more goddamned floral arrangements." My roommate Sam said as I was about to walk out.

"I didn't even say where I was going...and even if I was going there we still have plenty of room, you're just over exaggerating, I've only been there six times Sam" I said, trying to defend myself, there weren't that many flowers.

"I know you're going because you tried to leave without telling me and honestly Steve, if I didn't know you any better id think that you were getting some kind of drug fix at this flower shop... or just getting some." he said with a laugh

"Oh shut up Sam, I'm leaving." I said, chuckling as I headed out the door.

You can do this Steve, you can do it, its not that hard, all you have to do is give the incredibly gorgeous guy at the flower shop your number without embarrassing yourself, try not to have a panic attack, don't throw up, and proceed to leave without tripping or fainting... easy, really really... easy. Oh who am I kidding, ill probably get in there, see his adorable face and do all of those things at once, I should just head back, but then Sam will ask questions, ugh, I have to do this.

As I walked in the shop, he was putting together an arrangement, he was quite busy and didn't notice me at first, so I id the only sane thing to do, I admired every last detail because today might be the last time I see him, chances are, I'll be rejected. Today two strands of his nearly shoulder length hair were braided behind his head with small daises pinned in it, he was wearing a pastel blue jumper, black skinny jeans and his usual combat boots with little doodles on them, in short, he was beautiful, absolutely stunning, and I was planning on asking him out, well fuck me.

As I walked further into the shop I nearly tripped over my own feet, the noise jarring him from his work. Well shit, so much for being smooth, or at least a functional human being

"Oh hey," He said looking up at me, for a brief moment his baby blue eyes met mine and I was greeted with a smile that lit up his whole face, I wish I could see more of that smile "Stevie, I wasn't sure if it'd see you this week"

Stevie... he's given me a nickname...it'll be a bit harder not to scream now

"Oh, yea hey James I was just, working up the courage to... I mean... its nothing, just caught up with my roommate." I said trying not to made a fool of myself, probably failing

"Oh" his face seemed to fall at that "Your roommate... is she" he trailed off

"He's a guy" I said, trying to remain calm, ive never seen him so flustered, especially not around me.

"Oh" his expression rose but fell once again in a matter of seconds

"It's great getting to halve rent but it really sucks when he brings strangers home without telling me and I'll walk out looking all disheveled in the morning to some girl he hooked up with" I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood

"That must be quite the sight, makes me happy I live alone" he said with a small smirk, his mood lifting back to normal. 

"A-and once I walked into the kitchen wearing a 'say hey if you're gay' shirt and boxers and this girl he's been seeing for a couple weeks looked at my shirt, looked at him, looked back at me and just said 'hey' I think it was the funniest way he's been dumped." Once I realized what I had admitted I panicked "Oh no no, I don't I mean, I..."

"So what were you looking for today, s'more daises?" He cut me off trying to make me feel more comfortable I guess and honestly I was thankful

"You know me so well." I laughed trying to clear the blush from my cheeks, he must hate me

"Alright I'll be right back, I put something together I think you light like." He said while navigating through the displays and hanging plants to the back of the shop.

Oh god there's no way I'll ever be able to come back here, he's probably disgusted with me, or at least annoyed with how awkward I am I mean-

"Here you go...it's not quite done wait let me just." He said handing me a flowerpot filled with daisies and some small blue flowers before running back to the rear of the shop, nearly tripping over a large terra-cotta vase.

"I'm okay!"He exclaimed as he caught his balance.

As he made his way back I saw a small red rose in his hand, I was a bit confused because the rest of the flowers were live and already potted, the rose was cut off at the stem. As he neared I noticed a small note hanging from it, that's peculiar.

"Here ya go." Placing the rose in the flowerpot, I was still a bit confused but I had already embarrassed myself enough so I didn't question it

"Oh thank you James." I said admiring the beauty of the rose.

"You know Bucky's just fine, Stevie." I couldn't keep my eyes off the note attached to the rose, I could only see one side of it, and I saw my name scrawled out in Bucky's handwriting

"Y-yea sorry Buck." I said with a chuckle "well, I better be going" I began to walk towards the door

"Here let me" Bucky said as he opened the door for me, as he did I flipped the note around with my free hand and read it

As I read this, things seemed to go in slow motion, and I proceeded to trip In slow motion, and Bucky proceeded to catch me in slow motion, I was only pulled back to reality when I realized how close we were, and the fact that I had just been asked out by James Barnes.

"And I thought I was clumsy." He chuckled nervously

"Yes" I deadpanned

"What" he questioned, looking slightly worried

"I would love to have coffee with you" I said, a smile forming in my face

"Oh" he said, his eyes lighting up

He made a move to release me because I was still in his arms, before he could I leaned up and planted a kiss on his forehead.

"Coffee sounds lovely"
