Merry Christmas (or happy holidays, or belated holidays) everyone! Hope that you got everything you wanted! Please read the A/N at the end. It's important stuff about the upcoming chapter

The crowd below us was cheering raucously as I neared the goal post of the other team. Red and scarlet movements were peeking at the corner of my eyes, but I focused them on my goal and the Hufflepuff keeper. A chaser sped towards me and I bluffed a right before passing it to Ginny who scored a goal. The crowd below cheered "Gryffindor!" as the quaffle was caught by a Hufflepuff chaser.

Katie, Ginny, and I started guarding and playing defense as a Hufflepuff chaser advance towards us. Glancing at Katie, we both nodded slightly before suddenly swerving to the right and speeding towards the quaffle-holding chaser, he widened his eyes and dived under us, getting ready to throw it, before a bludger came towards him, forcing him to turn. I spun around and gave Peakes and Coote a grateful look as Ginny took her chance and snatched the quaffle before making a beeline to the goal post. She dropped the quaffle in my ready hands and I shot, scoring perfectly. Screaming resumed from behind us as the Hufflepuff keeper went to retrieve before throwing it back into play. A Hufflepuff chaser caught it and took his chance, throwing it immediately at the Goalpost.

Canary yellow dressed people rose and roared in excitement. The rest of the Gryffindor team yelled at McLaggen, all of us begging for him to block it he had a clear shot of it too. But he missed, and an uproar happened on both side, both of exuberance and outrage. I myself groaned, it was bad enough that McLaggen is the reason that we don't have Harry here and no way to end the game ourselves because of him, the stupid prat didn't have to make it worse by letting the opposing team catch up to our slight lead, in fact, he didn't seem to care anymore as he had a look of indifference.

McLaggen went to grab the quaffle and threw it lightly. I dove to grab it while Ginny and Katie blocked the other chasers. When I caught it, I stared at McLaggen, glaring right at him, he shrugged in return and I let out a puff of exasperation before I rose, dodging the oncoming chaser and a bludger as I threw straight at Katie, who swiftly passed her opponent. Ginny blocked off any other chasers while I ascended up and went to help Ginny.

Just as Katie was about to shoot, Madam Hooch blew the whistle and announced the end of the game. Scanning the pitch in confusion, I saw the Hufflepuff seeker brandish the snitch happily. The other Hufflepuff supporters hollered in their team's win, or because their enemies lost, while the Gryffindor supporters looked down dejectedly, or glowered hatefully at the substitute keeper, and I couldn't blame them.

The Gryffindor team slowly lowered themselves down as the Hufflepuff team celebrated their win. Walking towards the changing rooms, everyone wallowed in their defeat and shot disdainful grimaces at McLaggen while he ignored them, but I could tell they were getting to him. We neared the changing rooms and me, Katie, and Ginny, separated from the boys and went to our lockers. Usually we would converse after the match no matter the outcome of it, but we were all musing about the rubbish performance one of our teammates did and how everything came crashing down so badly, it was almost unbelievable.

"So, the match, was," Katie started, but quieted down, and gazed at the floor.

"It was so bloody bad." I agreed, knowing fully well that it was what she wanted to say.

"Our own teammate turned against us and ruined the match, taking out our seeker." Ginny said. "It can't get worse than that."

"I bet McLaggen's getting an earful." I said, faking sympathy.

"I wish I was there to yell at him too. The boys always take all the fun." Ginny spoke sullenly, and I smiled pitifully.
