Where The Answers Lie

// Hello, writer here. The following is a short teaser—an except from a brand new story I'll be working on. I've got only a little of the basic plot covered, so I guess the book's currently just a concept. There are lots of mistakes in my writing, so I hope you can look past that for now. It is just a draft, after all. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! //

Daniel was having a hard time keeping up with the silent boy. Their footsteps echoed through the corridors. "Look, I'm not going to tell anyone. Your secret's safe with me." he reasoned. "No."
"Come on, why not? You can trust me!" he begged. "No. Also, what are you talking about?" Crylen said, obviously trying to avoid him. "You're pretending to forget now? That just made me wanna ask you even more." Daniel grinned.
None of them said a word for a solid 5 seconds. "Ask what?"
"I know you know something about this school. A huge mystery surrounds us, but we're not paying any attention to it. We just pretend like we live in a happy, perfect environment, but I know for a fact that in the back of everyone's minds...we just don't want anything to do with it." He sounded a little desperate.
"And your point is?"
"We should work together to solve this mystery of this...this cursed school!"
Crylen stopped abruptly, causing Daniel to take a few extra steps further. He sighed. "I'll be honest. Yes, I do have information regarding this school; why they won't let us leave, and even the fog." Daniel's eyes lit up.
"But I refuse to tell anyone about it."
He rolled his eyes. "Ugh, for a second there, I actually had hope."
The quiet boy pulled out a notepad from his pocket, tearing a piece of paper from it.
"Forget this ever happened. No one shall find out." He said it suspiciously loud as he wrote something on the paper.
He handed it to him, walking away. "If you tell anyone, you'll die."
Confused, Daniel looked at the paper. 'MEET ME IN THE BOY'S TOILET AT 11 P.M.' He blinked, shaking his head. "This guy..."
