A/N: hint hint at the subtle hamilton references

Warren had done terrible, terrible things.

But when he looked at you like that, when he gave you those eyes, all you saw was innocence. Innocence that you would see in a little boy's eyes, and whenever you looked into his, he was that little boy again.

Helpless.

All he wanted was someone to forgive him. He didn't care who, just anyone. Anyone who thought he was worth the world, anyone thought that his heart was made of shining stars.

He didn't want it, he needed it.

So when he met you, when he saw the smile that was on your face, when he saw the way you didn't see him as a monster, but a person, a human being, he didn't want to be forgiven by anyone.

Anyone but you.

When you first told him you loved him, he felt like floating. He felt like there was no one in the world except for you two.

He still didn't feel like he was worthy of forgiveness.

But when you did forgive him, for everything he had done, he felt the world lift off his shoulders. He felt like no one could tear him down, like no one could ever take this moment from him.

Forgiveness, can you imagine?
