I jumped down the dark hole after Ricky into the underground maze. I immediately raced forwards holding my hands out in front of me as Footsteps echoed against my ear drums. My hands banged into a wall and my fingers cracked painfully. I felt along the cold and damp surface for a gap.
"Rachel" the voice came from behind me and I stopped breathing and moving "Rachel is that you?"
"No" I said hollowly and I moved away from the voice rapidly, feeling my way along the wall. Finally there was a gap and I lunged through it still holding my hands out. I tripped and fell on some stairs. I held my side in pain as I struggled up them. Had I found the exit already? No I hadn't, it was just more walls. I frantically moved left still feeling the walls until I came to a gap. It was really quiet and I could only hear myself breathing heavily. I shuffled along the tunnels panicking, I was so claustrophobic. I stopped, suddenly realizing I wasn't alone and backed up against the wall.
"Who's there?" I whispered out into the dark, my voice echoed through the tunnel and there was some movement at the side of me.
"It's Rowan"
"Rowan its Grace, where are you?" I waved my arms around in the dark to try and touch him.
"Over here" he said and I moved over to where the voice was coming from. Finally I got hold of his jacket and I pulled myself into him.
"Rowan, this is impossible"
"Nah. lets go that way"
"What way?"
"I pointed to the right" he said.
"Kay"
We stumbled forward with me still holding onto his jacket tightly. Rowan stopped suddenly and groaned loudly.
"Ow, my head"
"What happened?"
"Banged my head"
"Hold your arms out"
"Good idea"
I felt his arms stretch out in front of him and we shuffled down the wall he had just walked straight into. Something scraped against it and I realized it was just Rowans sword. I bolted my head round when I heard screams coming from behind us.
"We're not allowed to kill each other" I said panicking.
"Nope, probably just scared themselves"
"Ahuh"
Rowan walked forward when we had found a gap and I followed behind dragging on his jacket.
"Rowan, are you scared?" I whispered to him.
"Definitely not Grace" he whispered back.
"Really?"
"Yeah... Err actually no not really I'm shit scared, you?"
"I am too"
"Well we can be scared together"
"Ok, then"
The tunnels didn't seem to end. There was no light and no sound now and it had become quite creepy down here. The only noise that entered my ear was the sound of a dripping tap, our footsteps against the concrete floor and our heavy breathing. Other than that, silence.
"Gracey, Help me. HELP ME!!!"
I closed my eyes shut to get John's voice out of my head but it wouldn't go away. I accidently let go of Rowan's jacket and slapped my head furiously to block out my thoughts. They went and I heard Rowan's footsteps moving away.
