Jayfeather's Secret

The Yew Tree

I woke up that day, it was already sun high
Why do I always wake up until sun high!
Jayfeather got up from his warm nest and arched his back
Then again it feels so good to sleep. Now, to figure out how to use this power!

He walked out of the medicine cats' den.  He fast walked, his eyes looking at the Thunderclan hollow and eager to practice. He managed to get out of the camp and went venturing into the forest. That's when Jayfeather bursted into a sprint. Feeling the wind ruffling his pelt, jumping at any logs found in sight and avoiding to hit a tree, he found the right place. The Yew tree. It was perfect! It was hidden and no one would suspect a thing!
I could just say I'm looking for herbs! 

He snickered and crawled in the tree's branches. It had huge branches full of leaves, covering him in case he actually did shape shift
No one should ever find out
It had a great space inside so it would be great!
Ok... Maybe I need to... Run around in circles?  No wait that's a mouse brained idea. First off, I need to figure out what to turn into.
He thought of things he could shape shift but he found the right one
Lionblaze!

Jayfeather laughed a bit at the thought of shape shifting as his brother, but he was the only one he could think of
Maybe, if I think of the apperance I want to shape shift into, I'll be able to do it?
It didn't hurt to try, so he did. He concentrated on Lionblaze, he thought of his golden pelt, his sun-colored amber eyes.  Jayfeather looked around
This is actually a good place, calm and private... I like it
That's when Jayfeather widened his eyes
AGH I didn't concentrate well enough! 

Then Jayfeather scented a patrol.
Must be border patrol
He recognized the scents of those cats that were in the patrol.
Graystripe, Sandstorm, Brambleclaw, Icepaw, and Foxpaw
Jayfeather scrambled to his paws and muzzled through the branches leaves, acting like he was looking for herbs.  That's when the patrol arrives
“ Hi Jayfeather! ” Icepaw yelped
“ Hello Icepaw ” Jayfeather smiled
“ Looking for herbs I see ” Brambleclaw said smiling
“ Y-yep! ”
“ Well I hope we didn't disrupt you,  we should be returning to camp ” Sandstorm said
They turned around and headed off to camp
I hate lying
Jayfeather returned to his original spot and thought of Lionblaze
I need to do it I need to do it
I can't concentrate! That's it, I'm continuing this tomorrow, this was stressful.

Jayfeather padded towards camp and realized he hadn't eaten all day. When Jayfeather arrived,  an idea brightened up in his mind.  He went to grab a sparrow and tried to look for Lionblaze, finally he found him.
There he is
He was eating a mouse and nobody was with him,

Jayfeather padded towards him, the sparrow in his mouth and let go of the sparrow falling towards the ground in front of Lionblaze
“ Hey Jayfeather! ”
“ Hey Lionblaze, mind if I eat with you? ”
“ Go ahead ”
Jayfeather sat down and took a bite out of his fresh kill, liking his muzzel he glanced up at Lionblaze, looking at his every detail
This is a great idea!
Lionblaze glanced up
“ What's wrong? ”
Great Starclan, I was staring too long
“ It's nothing really”
“hmm alright ” Lionblaze got up,  since he finished eating Jayfeather stared at him
Great, now I can definitely do it

Jayfeather ate his delicious meal and padded towards the medicine cats den. He decided to sort out the herbs, putting them in order and making them organized for Leafpool
