(Starbucks Drinking Teen Trio)

~

Our next stop - the local Starbucks near the place Devan was found. He had visited this place numerous times as well and had often told interesting stories that took place in this exact coffeehouse. It was his favorite place to get coffee from, since there were many sexy male baristas. Remembering his favorite, Sammy, I walk over to the busy barista.

"Hey Lonk!" I greet him. Devan had always called him this, so I decide I should too, in honor of his memory. I continue, "Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about... Devan?"

"Oh, of course. I'd do anything to help you find out who killed my Devilbae," Lonk calls Devan by his nickname, "and put that pathetic criminal behind bars," he replies.

"Well, first of all, when was the last time you saw hi - "

A trio of girls come in, interrupting me with their loud voices and rambunctious laughter.

"Oh em gee Kemi, did you hear about the gay stripper who was murdered?" One says, whispering loudly, basically starting to gossip.

"Yeah, it's really tragic, Karley," the girl named Kemi says uninterestedly, helping me identify the other asian girl as Karley.

The last girl just sips her pumpkin spice latte silently, looking detached from what was going on.

Karley starts again, "I'm getting bored of this topi-"

"Excuse me," I interrupt, "did you guys know Devan?"

Kemi looks up from her two phones, and runs her eyes up and down my figure, along with Karley, "No, not really," they say vaguely, and get up to leave the Starbucks.

"Come on, Denise," they say to the last girl.

"I'll meet you outside," she tells them. As soon as they leave, the girl, Denise, turns towards me. "I knew Devan."

"Really?" I question, "how did you know him?"

"He was a close friend. He was like, my gay best friend. He knew who I liked. Devan helped me with situations with him, and for that, I'll be forever indebted to him. The least I could do is find out who killed him."

"When was the last time you talked to him?" I ask. Hopefully she had some useful information about Devan's death.

"Well... the last time I talked to him, which was a few days before his death, he seemed a bit... off, as if he knew something was going to happen soon. He wasn't his usual self. Devan was always the cheerful gay guy, y'know? But lately, he refused to hang out with anyone, didn't answer anyone's texts, and completely shut himself in. It was like... He was afraid of something.. Or possibly, aware?"

"Hmm..." I sigh, scribbling notes down onto my notepad, "Very suspicious. Anything else?"

"Ummm, nothing that I can think of. Sorry if I wasn't much help. Anyways, I gotta go... my friends are waiting for me..." she says, turning towards the door. "I hope you catch him," was the last thing she says, before she waves goodbye and sets out the door.

After she leaves, I turn back to Sammy, and proceed to interrogate him. He doesn't give me any information I hadn't already known. All he did was talk about how cute Devan was and gave cringe-worthy pet names for him, so I finish up and leave the store quickly.

DevNote: Thank you for reading~ Tbh I was shitting myself when I reviewed the title. Instead of "SDTT" I put "STDD." Yeah. That wasn't going to work very well.

PinxNote: Also, don't worry guys! The chapters got longer as we progressed the story. :^)
