The Doll
After Susie died, they kept her doll. Her parents.
They imagined it would be Best to have a memory of her other then the house.
They set the doll on her bed, they have no other kids, so they are torn.
In the middle of the night, the mother wakes to whispering.
She gets out of bed and finds herself stepping on the doll.
She picks it up.
"How?"
She is frightened.
She decides to bury it.
Walking outside with a shovel, she buries it, remembering here daughter.
"Goodbye." She goes inside.
In the Morning, she wakes to see the doll on Susie's bed.
She buries it again, not telling her husband.
This happened every night, until one frightening one.
The mother wakes up, seeing the doll, but not alone.
There is a note.
Dear Mommy,
Why do You bury me?
It's cold in the ground.
