I looked the jury in the eyes, hoping they could see the sincerity in my own.
They decided my fate and right now I really needed fate to be on my side.
I needed to get to the hospital where Emma was. I had to be there when she woke up.
I promised I'd never leave her side when things got tough and look at me now.
I'm sitting in a chair, under oath, letting other people decided wether or not I can resume my life or be sent to prison.
How was this even fair?
