Chapter 23 : " The appointment "

Ivy POV

We woke up early because of the appointment we had with Dr. Jake. We took our shower less longer than usual because we were running a little late. I got dressed as fast as I could, took an apple and a juice box, and went waiting for Keke in his car.

Even though I had the feeling that the baby would be a girl, I wanted to be sure. The prenatal ultrasound the Dr. is going to do will determinate the sex of our baby and the fact that we were going to see her and have a picture of her is amazing. I can't wait any longer.

I was waiting for Keeshan to get in the car, he was the one driving, and damn this boy was taking a lot of time just to walk to the car. If it wasn't for him, I would drive myself to the appointment but unfortunately I'm not alone in this story. The baby is ours but I just can't understand why he is taking his time like that. He should be excited about it.

As he finally sat in the driver seat, I asked " What's wrong? You don't seem happy to go to the appointment. "

He looked at me and replied " I was just thinking about the bad dream you had yesterday night... I'm worried baby. I try not to but it's hard. What if your dream was a premonition? What if it w.... "

I interrupted him and said " Today is our day, I don't wanna hear about that bad dream I had yesterday or the whole week. Today is suppose to be a special. The Dr. is going to do a prenatal ultrasound of our baby, so I want the moment to be beautiful. It will be just you and I, nobody else, no stress and no problem. We'll talk about that another day. Please baby? I'm begging you Keke... "

He sighed. " Ok, I'll leave it for today but tomorrow we will talk about it. Now let's head to our appointment sweetie. "

When we arrived at Falls Hospital, we asked for Dr. Jake. The secretary told us to wait in the waiting room and that Dr. Jake will call us when he will be ready. It took about half an hour till the Dr. finally came to meet us. He took us to the prenatal ultrasound room. He explained us important things about it and told me to go to the bathroom and put the hospital gown that he gave me.

When I was ready, I went back to the prenatal ultrasound room. The Dr. told me to lay down on the hospital bed and to lift my gown at the top of my belly. He applied a gel on the surface of my belly then he placed an ultrasound probe on it. He smiled and said " look at the screen of the desktop video. "

Keke and I did as he said and we saw a beautiful image of our baby. I started to feel tears of joy running down my face. It was so beautiful. My baby. Our baby. The moment couldn't be more perfect. Keke hugged me tight and whispered me " I love you baby. "

I was about to respond to him but Dr. Jake said " The baby is in good health. " Then he smiled to us. I knew he could see happiness in ours eyes. " Would you like to know the sex of the baby or wait until he/she is born to have the surprise? "

" We would like to know Dr. " I was so excited.

" Ok, you two are going to have a lovely little girl. " I immediately looked in Keke's eyes to see that he was surprise. I smiled because I knew since yesterday that our baby was going to be a girl.

Keke smiled to me and said " It's an amazing news, I'm so happy. "

" You should be because it's a wonderful thing to raise a child. By the way, would you like a picture? " Dr. said to us.

" Sure Dr. Jake. "

He gave us a small black and white picture of our baby. The picture was so beautiful.

" Thank you Dr. " I replied as I looked up at the Dr.

" It's a pleasure for me. I'll leave you two alone and we will see each other in two months. Take good care of you Ivy. Rest, eat healthy food and take a few walks occasionally. Have a good day. " As he finished talking, he left the room.
