Emily picked up the photo as the memories came flooding back. The phot was if her and Amanda, hugging, I'm the day she was let free and Amanda still had to wait another year. It was before they had changed names, when Emily was still Amanda and Amanda was still Emily. She started to cry as she remembered what happened that day.

{Flashback}

"Miss Clarke, you're free to go," the police officer said in locking her cell door.
"I don't want to go," she said in return.
"You spent nearly your while time in juvie causing trouble because you hate it here, why would you not want to leave?"
"I can't leave my friend."
"I didn't think you had friends," he said laughing. "Who?"
"Emily."
"Emily Thorne?"

She nodded and wiped a tear off her cheek.

"At least let me say goodbye," she begged.
"You have ten minutes."

Amanda stood up and walked down the hall to where Emilys room was.

"Emily?" She asked knocking on the door.
"Come in," she replied.

Amanda walked in and sat down on the bed next Emily.

"I have to go now," she said starting to cry.
"Why are you crying?"'Emily asked.
"Because I can't leave you here," she said.
"But we are sisters we will always be close to each other."
"I don't know Em, I don't know what will happen to me after I leave here."
"Promise me one thing, the day I get out, will you be here waiting?"
"Of course, I wouldn't miss it," Amanda replied.
"Well then, I will see you soon."

"Miss Clarke your time is up," the guard said from outside the door.

"I love you," Emily said hugging her.
"I love you too."

{Flashback ends}

Emily picked up another photo, taken just after they had changed names. They had volunteered at a child care centre and were laughing.

{Flashback}

"I've missed this so much Amanda," Emily said.
"It still feels strange having you call me Amanda," she replied smiling. "I've missed this too."
"I can't wait to make a life if my own, with you in it of course," she said picking up one of the babies who had begun to cry.
"Are you going to have kids?" Amanda asked her.
"I will, I'm sure of it. I know that's what my father would have wanted."
"I think I will too, and then you can be auntie Em," she said smiling.

They both laughed aloud and Emily said down and cradled the baby against her chest.

"You know Amanda, that day I left you in juvie, I thought I would never see you again." Emily admitted.
"I didn't expect you to be there like you said you would the day I left," she replied.
"But I was, and I don't know where I would be without you," she said.
"The feeling is mutual trust me."
"Thank you, for being such an amazing sister," Emily said.
"You are a better sister than you know."

{flashback ends}

"Emily what are you doing?" Daniel asked walking down the stairs.
"I'm just looking through photos," she said wiping her eyes.
"It's 3am," he reminded her.
"I know, I couldn't sleep," she said.
"Come on, you need your sleep," he said offering his hand.

She took it and stood up.

"I wrote the eulogy," she said.
"Good, but now you need to sleep," he said taking her up the stairs.
"I'm exhausted," she said laying down on the bed.
"Go to sleep, I love you Em."
"I love you too."
