Tris's POV

"How can they be so cheery and happy?" I ask Christiana as she says "They're amity, that's what they Tris." "I can't be happy for more than five minutes and when I'm happy I'm never skipping and giggling like a mad person who's on steroids." "You're very nice Tris" Chris jokes.

"Not trying to be" I answer. She nudges me when Four looks back at me and she giggles. "Wow, Christina, you can be amity" I retort. "You guys r so cute" Chris tells me. "Hey, is this where we're staying?" I ask hopeful he'll say no. "We don't have anywhere else to go and plus we need to settle" he explains.

"We can't settle down here, it'll drive us crazy" I point out. "Tris, we are not going to ride that train again, we are staying here and that's final" he says raising his voice. I just shake my head and look down as we walk.

"Tris I'm sorry but we're always gonna be on the run from that Max" he says softly. "I know it's just too cheery here" I say. "I know it's killing me too but we are not going to run."

"But what if Max and the Dauntless find us?" I ask. "Then we'll...r" he starts but I cut him off and say "Run, we'll run won't we!?" I ask mad. "Tris, there would be nothing else left to do" he tries to reason but I don't care. "Why are u like this Four, one minute you say we are not running and another minute you say we are gonna run."

"Four, make up your mind" I yell. I walk faster and the girl stops and says "Joanna's office is right up that staircase" he says happily. "Thank you" Will thanks. "Of course" the girl says walking away. We all walk up the stairs and see who looks to be Joanna.

She hears us and turns her head, the first thing that strikes me is a scar that cuts one side of her cheek. "Hello, I hear you are the visitors" she says voice strong. "Yes and we are very grateful to be here" Will compliments. "So I heard you want to stay here?" she asks.

"Yes, we were running from Max" Tobias tells her. "Max?" she asks surprised as Tobias nods. "Max is the leader of Dauntless, why is he hunting you?" Joanna asks. "We attacked him at Dauntless" Four answers.

Joanna nods then says "How long were u in Dauntless?" she asks. "I was there for three years until the whole war" Four tells her. "And some of them transferred" he answers.
"Please sit down" Joanna says gesturing to the chairs. "Thank you" we thank her.

"I will talk to Max and tonight we are inviting you to the meeting to see if people agree to have you stay here."
"Ok, thank you" I say as she nods. "How many are you?" she asks as she looks around. "There's eight of us" I answer.

"And you know that amity does not tolerate conflict and we believe in kindness and compassion, if u make any conflict then you will be forced to leave because we do not do that" Joanna explains.

"Ok we'll have eight separate rooms set up so you have somewhere to stay before the meeting" Joanna says standing up. "Actually can we just get four" Tobias asks as her eyes widen but then says "Of course." "Please follow me" Joanna says briefly.

Hours later

We are in our rooms right now, Christina and Will are across from us. Uriah and Marlene are next to us and Zeke and Shauna are next to Uriah and Marlene. "Hey, I'm sorry I snapped at you" I say to Tobias as I hug him from behind. "Hey, it's ok, we're all on edge" he replies turning around and hugging me.

"Hey, I'm sorry too, I don't really wanna settle down here, it's too happy" Tobias admits. "I knew it drives you crazy too" I say looking up at him. He looks down at me and says "I love you Tris" he says. I come closer to him and reply "I love you too, Tobias Eaton!"
He smiles and pulls me close.
