Chapter Five: Forgotten
Jack's POV
As me an' Kat walks back to da lodge house, she talked my ear off about how she despised her daddy sometimes. Don't get me wrong, she's a pretty girl, wit a pretty puss (face), and she knows her way around da bedroom too, but sometimes I just wanna tell 'er ta shut it.
I pushed the heavy lodge house doors open, expectin' da other newsies ta be scattahed everywhere like normal, but they wasn't. I was kinda confused for a second but den I heard a ruckus in da eatin' room. Kat started pullin me to da stairs, but I tugged the other way.
I heard all the boys talkin' to a girl. Girl? I really hope it wasn't one if those one time tramps I brought home. Kats the only one I usually keep around.
A feminine figure in a link dress, with dirty blonde hair, kinda da color of Pot Conlon's, but darker asked, "Where is Jack?"
"Depends on who's asking!" I responded.

Mia's POV
"Depends on who's asking!" A voice called from behind me.
I looked towards Romeo, who started moving his eyebrows, because he knew exactly what was going through my head right now.
I started spinning around, very slowley, on my heel an inhaling deeply.
The second I meet his eyes my heart threatened to jump from my chest. The brown pools of warmth had my head clouding up and his sharp features seemed so distant, that it worried me.
"Who are you?" He asked me again, almost as if looking through me.
"Oh come on Jackie! you know exactly who this is." Blink yelled from behind me.
"Nope. Youse face ain't ringing no bell."
"Jac-" Romeo tried to talk, but I cut him off by raising my hand.
"It doesn't matter Rome. It's only natural for people to forget." I said calmly, even though my heart was sinking. "I don't know there would be and extra guest, let me just get you a plate unm..." I trailed off looking at the girl.
"Me and Katherine won't be joining y'all." Jack said turning around a walking off.
Once they were gone I was left standing there. I felt myself being pulled into a hug, and of course it was Romeo. I wanted to cry, but I knew I had to be strong.
I wouldn't cry over this.
