''Hello, you've just called the Insomnia Helpline. How may I be at your service?"
"Is this not Nick? What?"
Everett hears a soft laugh on the other side of the phone.
"No, I'm sorry sir, this isn't Nick. This is the Insomnia Helpline."
"So i've been told," Everett mutters under his breath.
"So what is this anyway? Do you just help people sleep?"
"Well, yes, I do. But I also like to talk to them, make them feel less alone."
"If you talk to them, wouldn't that make them more awake?"
A soft chuckle is followed by her answer.
"Strangely, no. It makes them tired, and the next thing you know, BAM! They're asleep."
There's a long pause of awkward silence and then some shuffling.
"Ah, well, I got to go right now, but um, thanks for informing me about the Insomnia Helpline..?"
"Anytime, if you have trouble sleeping, feel free to call."
'I highly doubt it,' Everett thought.
