"Gallop away my beauty!"

*Lewis' POV*

"And if you just..." Ed ran his fingers through my black hair, combing through the mass of gel he'd just dabbed onto my roots. He stuck his tongue out in concentration and narrowed his eyes, trying to sculpt my fringe into just the right shape. Finally, he stood back and grinned, "OK, I'm done. Take a look!"

I swivelled on my heel to look at the mirror and assess the damage. "DUDE WHAT THE FUCK?!" I shouted before exploding into hysterics. Ed had shaped all of my jaw length hair into one giant point on the front of my head, about 10 centimeters in length.

After a while I managed to compose myself, then turned to Ed with my most serious face on. "You evil son of a bitch. You made me into a unicorn, didn't you?"

Ed took broken breaths trying to stop himself from losing it, "Gallop away my beauty! Run and be free!" At that he crumpled to the ground in fits of silent laughter whilst clapping, although he just looked like a seal on crack. Except Ed's not as cute as a seal, in my opinion.

After about five minutes of me staring at Ed rolling on the floor, he finally got up and manged to speak again: "Go wash your hair, man."

Shaking my head at him in true 'this isn't over' style, I galloped to the bathroom and showered.

Having scraped the gel out of my 'horn', then washed and shaved, I got dressed and headed back to Ed's living room. He was sat on the sofa watching Man VS Food.

"Lewis, come here. Sit yourself down on the sofa-" I did as Ed told me to "-now look. Is that not the BIGGEST hamburger you've EVER seen?!"

"Erm yeah... I guess so."

"Good. How goes the music?" Ed inquired, ripping his eyes away from the six pound burger to look at me.

"Not so bad, I finished recording for the first EP this morning."

"Congrats!"

"Thanks man," I smiled, "What about you? Found a producer yet?"

"Nope," he shook his head somewhat sadly, "I went to that place the other day, but the guy just said I was 'too ginger' to appeal to the female audience before even waiting for me to start playing."

"But all the ladies want some of that ginger lovin'!" I protested.

"Oh my God, that's what I'm going to call the album! 'Want Some?'" Ed jumped up.

"Yes! That's brilliant!" I jumped along with him. If anyone walked in on us jumping and high-fiving like teenage girls, they'd totally think we were gay.

After a minute of leaping around the living room, I turned conversation on to the party. "So, looking forward to tonight?"

"Hell yeah! It's been ages since we've been to a good house party!" Ed practically shouted.

"And how do you know it's going to be a good one?"

"Maybe because it's my party, and I am the Party God." Ed declared before shooting me a 'that's right, bow down to me' look.

"Yeah, I know, but you can't go crazy or anything, Claire's going to be there."

Ed waved his hand at me. "No worries, she's seen me crazy enough before. Remember when I made a bra out of tinsel at that Christmas party?"

I felt my face drop in the horror of the memory. "Oh God. No, please. I told you never to remind me."

He giggled, "Haha OK, I'm sorry! What about you? Ready for the party of the century?"

"God yes! There'll be a load of uni girls there, right? I'm on the lookout tonight."

"What? The lone wolf on the hunt for a female? What changed?"

"I want what you've got - minus the tinsel lingerie. Anyway, I reckon I'm ready."

Since my girlfirend, Amy, broke up with me last summer I'd not dated, simply because no one could make me feel like she did. Now I finally felt ready to move on, and Ed understood that.

He nodded, "I see. Good luck out there man, I got your back." He winked at me.

"Promise me something, Ed."

"Yeah, what?"

His face turned serious and he raised his eyebrows, concerned.

"You won't ever wink at me again," I chuckled.

His eyebrows slid back to normal height. "I'm not making a promise I can't keep!" He winked again.
