'"She's called...um... Oh shit."'

**Lewis' POV**

"Ok, I'll see you soon. I'll text you details okay?" I whispered to her, using a soft voice because we were still only a few centimetres from each other. We'd been like this for about 5 minutes already, looking in each other's eyes, neither of us wanting to move away. It was only our second date and I already knew that this was going to be something serious.

"Yeah, ok. Don't forget," Dala smiled as I brushed her cheek with my hand and brought our faces even closer, until our noses touched. She leaned in the rest of the way, bringing our lips together in a soft, gentle kiss that was becoming familiar to me. Over the past few hours I had learnt the way our lips fit together, how to syncronise our breaths and the feel of her skin against mine. I had learnt all these things, and I had loved them.

I still felt high off happiness when the door to my flat clicked shut and I began to wish she was with me again. I even had a bit of a buzz when the door reopened an hour later and Charlie stumbled through the entrance to the living room. I could smell the alcohol on him from across the room.

"Looeeeyyyy," he grinned at me, his eyes sparkling as they only ever did when he was completely intoxicated.

"Oh what, Charlie?" I snapped. I had begun to lose patience with drunk Charlie since about a month ago, when him stumbling home after a few too many drinks became a regular thing. As much as he would annoy me whilst he was pissed, it never really worried me. It's a common thing for people our age to drink a lot and Charlie never seemed exceptional to this.

"Loooeeyyy I met a girl at the," Charlie paused to burp, "at the bar. She's called...um... Oh shit. Anyway, she's real prettyyy." He raised his eyebrows at me before staggering over to the couch and dropping himself down onto it.

"Look, that's great man. I'm gonna go to bed but I'm glad you had a good day," I replied, trying to end the conversation as quickly as possible. Charlie was sitting so close that I was becoming uncomfortable and he kept breathing on my face. He was in a real state.

"No Lou, sit and talk with me. How was your date with Dala?" He spat her name like it was poison. I'm surprised Charlie even remembered her name, given his current state of mind.

"It was good. It was really good," I couldn't help it, I felt a smile tugging at my mouth and the blood rushing to my cheeks.

"Oh, well I'm glad you're so fucking happy," his tone turned to acid as his eyes hardened. I could do nothing but stare at him open mouthed: this wasn't Charlie. "You know I really FUCKING liked her. I could see it. Me and her. I could. You RUINED IT!"

I could just see things spiralling out of control, but for a few minutes I was too shocked to do anything. Charlie stood up and started yelling incoherent words and noises at me as I slowly backed away. Taking advantage of his inalert state, I edged off the couch and dashed to my room. I locked my door and lay on my bed with headphones on and music playing full blast, to cover the sound of Charlie's fists punching on my door.

***A/N***
