It had been a week since I met Karlie Kloss, and my world had turned upside down. The lanky girl was currently sitting on my couch, begging me to play a song for her.

"C'mon Tay. Please?"

I sighed, knowing I wouldn't be able to outwit her. "Okay, fine, one song." I agreed as she handed me the guitar. "But, only one."

She grinned and I melted inside. That grin drove me crazy, it was like Christmas, my birthday, Thanksgiving and Halloween rolled into one. I picked at the strings of the guitar, debating on what to play. Mentally, I ran through all the songs I had written, and finally settled on one that I'd written the night I'd met Karlie at the bar.

There I was again tonight forcing laughter, faking smiles

Same old tired, lonely place

Walls of insincerity

Shifting eyes and vacancy vanished when I saw your face

All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you

Your eyes whispered "have we met?"

Across the room your silhouette starts to make it's way to me

The playful conversation starts

Counter all your quick remarks, like passing notes in secrecy

"Did you write that?" she asked in awe when I'd leaned the instrument against the edge of the couch.

"Yeah.. I wrote it after I came home from the bar we met at." I said sheepishly, a little embarrassed.

There was that grin again... I smiled back at her and got up to go to the kitchen, the cats scampering after me. Coming back into the living room, I handed her a mug before sitting down next to her. We sat in silence as we watched Nurse Jackie on Netflix. I spaced off as we sat there, deep in my own thoughts.

I still didn't understand how the world started off in black and white, and suddenly turned colorful when you met the supposed love of your life. I mean, there were theories about it, but none had been proven, and frankly, it was a lot to wrap my head around.

"so then, she jumped me in an alley and-"

"Wait, what?" I asked.

"I'm kidding," she smiled. "I knew you weren't paying attention."

"Sorry, I spaced off there..." I apologized.

"That's okay." she said, leaning her head on my shoulder.

I sat my mug on the coffee table and wrapped an arm around her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. I surprised myself, I normally wasn't the affectionate type, but I was finding out with Kar, she brought out the best in me.

A/N: Sorry it's so short, I'm working on the next chapter that I really like so far,  so here's just a short filler. And I'm going to start doing a short snippet of the next chapter/teaser.

"and besides, we're going to get there, and you're going to charm the pants off of everyone. They'll love you." I promised.

"But you're the only one I need to charm the pants off of." she grinned, her whole mood shifting.
