They say all stories must come to an end, and you had the feeling that your story's end was coming. It could be in a week, a month, a year. You knew that after a death of some close in your life will come the end of yours. You don't know how or when it'll happen but it was coming.

You looked towards Lafayette, he was staring out the window of the carriage. The light lit his face, creating an angelic glow, his eye sparkled brighter than the fallen snow.

You were all heading back to Yorktown Virginia where the camp was currently set up, Washington was going to tell everyone where their stationed at next.

"Hey guys," Hamilton said breaking the silence that filled the carriage. You all turned to him, "John and I have something to tell you..."

You all waited patiently to hear the news as John looked at Alexander with a nervous look.

"We're together!" Alexander said holding John's hand.

A huge smile stretched across your face, "that's great!"

They look at you surprised, "r-really??"

You nodded.

"I've been wondering what was going on between you two," Mulligan said with a smirk, "So when did it happen?"

"A year ago." John finally spoke up.

"You didn't tell me?!" You shouted, "some brother you are." You crossed your arms as everyone laughed.

"I didn't know what you'd think." John admitted.

"I would've supported you either way." You smiled, he smiled back.

The rest of the journey home was filled with laughing and a few silences between everyone, but it wasn't awkward, you all were just tired.

You arrived at camp the next morning.

Washington called everyone in his tent, "here's my plan," he said sternly, "Laurence, tomorrow you're leaving early to go back to South Carolina." John nodded. "Lafayette, when we drive the British away, I want you to be waiting in Chesapeake Bay. Mulligan and Y/N, you two will be behind enemy lines, try to get all the information you can and report back to me, we need to get the British to Yorktown, that's where we'll stop them. Hamilton will stay here with me. Got it?"

"Yes Sir." You all said in unison.

"Alright, early morning tomorrow, so go get some rest." He said.

You all left the tent, Laurence, Hamilton, and Mulligan all walked back to their tent and Lafayette walked you to yours. You held his hand.

"Y/N," he said.

You turned towards him, "Yes Laf?"

He looked at you for a while before speaking, "be careful alright? I don't want you getting hurt...or worse..."

You smiled, "I promise, and you promise me not to get hurt either. I know you love fighting but please try to make it back in one peace, ok?"

He smiled at you, "I promise my love."

You went to bed that night with Lafayette on your mind, he'd crowed your thoughts up until you finally saw him again, which was when the war finally ended months later.

You searched around for him, you found Alexander and John together. You grew happy at the sight of them, "John! Alex!" You yelled running up to them.

John turned towards you, he smiled, "Y/N!!"

You both hugged each other.

"You ok right?" John asked.

"Yeah, are you?"

"Better now that the war is over." You let go of each other and he looked down at you, "Still short huh?"

You hit his arm, "hey! At least I'm not as short as Alex." You both laughed.

"Rude." You heard Alex say trying to hold back a laugh.

"Do you know where Lafayette is?" You asked once your laughing fit was over.

"I think I saw him over there earlier." John said pointing in the direction where everyone else was.

"Ok thanks! See you two later!" You yelled as you ran.

They smiled at you, even though you and John are adults now he couldn't help but still view you as a little child. Maybe it's the over protectiveness inside him, or maybe he didn't want to let go of the fact that you have grown up from your childhood days.

You finally spotted Lafayette, "Lafayette!!" You yelled. He looked around but didn't see you, as you were too short and hidden in the crowd. You ran towards him and lost tripped in the process. When he finally spotted you he just stood there for a minute to actually see if it was really you. He then ran and embraced you and your lips met.

The kiss was sweet and passionate, it made up from not seeing each other after months of blood sweat and tears.

"I missed you so much Y/N." He said after pulling away.

"I missed you too."

After that day you got excepted into a university, which was rare for females at the time. John and Alex got engaged and you are John's best man, well in this case, best woman. It was the day before the wedding when you received a letter in the mail.

John had been gone for a while he was taking a trip to South Carolina but he strangely has't returned yet. To your surprise the letter was from your father, whom you haven't spoken to in years.

"I may not live to see our glory..."

You sat down at your desk.

"...but I will gladly join the fight..."

You grabbed your letter opener and started tearing away at the envelope.

"...and when your children tell our story..."

You opened the letter.

"...They'll tell the story of tonight..."

Dear Y/N,

On Tuesday the 27th, your brother John Laurence was killed in a gun fight against British troops in South Carolina. These groups have not yet received word from Yorktown that the war was over. He is buried here until we can send for his remains. As you know, John dreamed of emancipating and recruiting 3000 men for the first all black military regiment.

His dream of freedom for these men dies with him.

"Tomorrow they'll be more of us!"

The tears were falling from your eyes. You're only family member, your twin brother, and the closet person in your life...and he's gone. You cried the rest of the day, as memories of you and John in your mind played. You couldn't help but wonder how Alexander was feeling.

A/N: Hello everyone! Did I make you cry yet?? I'm sorry fro not updating since October an all, I've been busy with school, homework, choir, and other things and I haven't really had the time to actually write.

I have a few confessions to make also. Over time I sorta grew out of the Hamilton fandom, I still enjoy the music and all, but I'm not avidly listening to it anymore. And I think it's about time to end this story. I'll post one or two more chapters then that'll be it.

I also apologize if this this story was bad and short, not my best works I suppose. But thank you all for the support and love. I never thought this story would get over 25K reads, this is probably my most popular story ever!

I love you all and thanks for all your comments, comment below of what you thought of the story and whether or not I made you cry.
