It was past midnight.

Matt did not return home yet.

Troye curled up in his new yellow sweater and skinny knee ripped jeans in the corner of his bed, breathing slowly, frowning and just waiting as he heard the clock in the hallway chime twelve times.

"Troye, you okay?" Jacob asked, sitting next to the boy on the bed and gently threading his fingers to Troye's curls. He knew that Troye was not fine, he was hurt a lot. He had been waiting for this day since a long time.

"Yeah, I am okay, Jay," Troye mumbled softly as a tear rolled down his cheek and he sniffled quietly. Jacob knew how much Troye is hurting and thats hurting him too.

"Tro, its okay, he will come back home," Jacob assured the curled up boy, patting his shoulder and sighing sadly as Troye's shoulders sunk down.

All the candles were blown off by the wind and Troye was just waiting. He did not know why Matt did not love him the way he loved Matt and that somehow made his heart break.

"Its okay," Troye assures again.

Jacob sighs, he could not see Troye like this anymore so he just turns his face as he says, "I am gonna get going. Its too late, my girlfriend would be bitching at me."

"She is already such a bitch, why are you still with that stupid girl?" Troye asked, snorting.

"Because, I love her," Jacob lied with a smile.

He did not love her. He loved the boy right in front of him with blue eyes and beautiful soft curls.

"But she does not love you," Troye said in return, silence lingering in the air as Jacob sighed again, touching Troye's cheek with the back of his hand as he said,

"I could say the same thing to you, Troye," Jacob mumbled softly but Troye did hear it and remained silent.

Jacob knew that he should not have said that when he saw Troye's shoulders shaking slightly and a silent sobbing.

Troye was crying.

"I am, am sorry, Tro," Jacob said, trying to apologise to the other guy but Troye just shook his head as the answer.

"You can go now, Jay. I already know that, I did not need our reminder to make me hurt more," Troye said softly.

Jacob did not say anything, he knew he was wrong so instead, he just took his coat from the hanger, wrapping it around him and looked at the small boy cowered up and crying silently.

He did not wnnt to leave Troye all alone but he knew that he had no other option left now.

"Bye Tro. I will see you tomorrow at the university," Jacob said ad Troye did not respond to him and having said those words, he wore his converse and made his way outside the small house.

And while walking down the road, he looked back to see that Matt was pulling his car in the driveway.

He shook his head as he knew that Matt was probably gonna be drunk.

And troye's gonna be hurt.
