Squinting in the morning sun, I locked my front door and slid my house keys in my blossom pink hoodie pocket. Sleepily rubbing my eyes, my tired state contrasted with my Bichon Frise breed dog's enthusiastic leaps, exhilarated to begin her morning walk as usual. Wrapping the lengthy lead around my pale hands, I tugged lightly , gesturing my little dog to follow our normal pathway to the near woodland. Her snowy poofed-up fur almost being enveloped in the surrounding darkness of the early hours, my pet eagerly bounded ahead of me, straining on the leader willing to be free. "In a lil, Lu", I softly replied to her constant tugging. Continuing our path, we grew closer and closer to the vast wood, as my cheerful puppy's excitement elevated. "Almost there!", I joyfully said, making Lu's fluffy tail wag as rapid as a windmill in gale force.

~Five minutes later~

The outline of the sign to the woodland in sight, my dog let out several high pitched yaps as she patted on the pavement closer and closer to her favourite place ; RedWood Pines. Laughing, I allowed her to take the lead as she guided me to the opening. Beckoning Lu to come closer, I took a doggie treat from my pocket and held it as Lu came nearer. Now in reaching distance, I gave the treat to her, her small teeth contently chewing on the succulent snack as I removed the leader. After finishing the treat, she bounced deeper into the forest, exploring the extensive wood. Glancing over at the forest's sign, I saw the familiar scarlet swirls decoration which was adorned in elaborately painted roses. I sighed in appreciation for the prepossessing presentation of the sign. I knew exactly why it was Lu's favourite place.
