Chapter 21

*A/N hey guys sorry it's been like 50 years since I've updated. I have decided to do a bit of a time jump thing so Mysti and Draco plus all of ya faves are now going into their last year and also Dumbledore is dead so we are kinda going from there*

A dull movement next to me woke me. My eyes darted to the alarm clock on my beside table, it read 3:05am. I exhaled before closing my eyes and attempting to roll over, I slammed into something on the other side of my bed. Drowsily I reached a hand out trying to push it off my bed, but my hand connected with someone's chest

"You could at least buy me dinner first Mysti" said a voice from next to me

"Barty?" I groaned

"Go back to sleep it's early" he replied "and quit trying to push me off the bed"

"Whatever" I whispered before falling back into a deep sleep

Bartys POV

I woke for the second time that morning knowing that it was time for me to see the dark lord. I looked down to see Mysti's head resting on my chest. She had been in such hysterics yesterday that I ended up sleeping the night, today she was going back to hogwarts for her final year and I had to admit there was a chance I would miss her snarky comments.

I slowly moved out from under Mysti's head trying not to disturb her sleep. I quickly grabbed my shoes from the floor and quietly headed towards the hall. I looked back at Mysti's sleeping figure subconsciously walking towards her when I reached her beside I leant down and lightly kissed her forehead. She didn't deserve any of what was to come so I had to do my best to shield her from it.

Mysti's pov

"Mysti are you ready?" Narcissa asked as her head appeared through the gap in my doorway

I nodded, as my eyes did one last scan of my bedroom

"Downstairs in five please" she added exiting my room

I exhaled loudly as I sat back down on my bed allowing myself to fall backwards onto the soft mattress. I wasn't looking forward to going back to hogwarts I knew it would be a much darker place than the home we had all come accustomed to. Now that Voldemort was out in the open and Dumbledore was dead there would be no protection for the good at Hogwarts. Not that I was considered good at all but I never wanted this.

Slowly I made my way downstairs to the drawing room to say goodbye to everyone.
When I entered I saw my parents waiting, my dad immediately engulfed me with a hug

"Be safe my sweet girl" he whispered in my ear" I nodded as I hugged my father tighter as if he could save me from the horror I feared my school had become

My mother caressed my face gently

"Learn as much as you can Mysti" she said

"I will I promise"

She nodded

"Oh and if those carrows challenge you in anyway remind them who I am" she added

I laughed nodding before Narcissa ushered Draco and I out the door and before we knew it we were headed to the train station

I approached the train, handing my trunk to one of the operators. Before I could could board I felt a hand grab my arm startling me. I looked up to meet the eyes of Barty Crouch jr.

"Barty?!" I gasped  "what are you doing here? You can't be here everyone thinks you're dead"

He chuckled

"Relax Mysti no one here will recognise me"

I rolled my eyes

"Yeah of course no one here will recognise you we're only at a platform filled of witches and wizards plus a few of you're old teachers. Sorry I was so silly to worry" I said sarcastically

Barty pulled me into an empty waiting room

"I was going to say goodbye to you at the manor but I didn't get back in time" he explained

"It's Okay" I replied

"I also wanted to give you this" he said reaching into his robes and pulling out a velvet box

My eyes widened as he opened the top to reveal a ring encrusted with huge diamonds

"I wasn't sure what you liked so I just went with the general assumptions that all girls love diamonds" he said as I stood there in shock

"I love it" I said quietly as a smile made its way to my face

"Well that's a relief" he laughed as he took my hand and slipped it onto my finger

"Look I'm not just here to give you a huge ring. I also came to warn you"

I frowned

"What do you mean?"

"Mysti Hogwarts isn't going to be the same place you remember. It's going to be crawling with death eaters"

I sighed

"Yeah I figured it wouldn't be the same. Dumbledores dead it changes a lot"

"Look" Barty said taking both my hands in his "the Carrows they are going to be teaching this year. I need you to promise me that you'll stay out of their way"

"My mother told me to intimidate them"

"They're already going to have it out for you because they hate me so just be careful"

I nodded

"I'll be careful I promise"

"Are you going to be stationed at Hogwarts too?" I asked hopefully

"It's unlikely" Barty said "but I'll speak with the dark lord"

"Okay" I smiled

"You better go before you miss your train" Barty said

I quickly pulled him into a hug not really wanting him to leave.

"I'll see you at the end of the term" he whispered in my ear

I pulled away

"I mean unless you feel like saving me before then" I retorted before slipping out of the room and making my way onto the train just in time for it to leave.
