Chapter 27

Mysti walked into the great hall, her eyes darting around looking for Draco or any members of her family.

Looking around she saw people finding their loved ones people crying, people embracing, and she suddenly felt very alone. She began to head to Barty's classroom in search for a broomstick but she was stopped

"Where do you think you're going?!" Kingsley Shacklebot stood in her path demanding an answer

"You are coming with us, you've got questions to answer Lestrange" he added

They sat her at the end of what would be the hufflepuff table.

"So apparently your husband is nowhere to be found?" He started looking her in the eyes

"Betrothed" Mysti corrected

Kingsley sighed

"Would you mind sharing his destination?"

Mysti looked up

"I'm afraid I know no more than you" she shrugged standing up

"SIT DOWN" Kingsley yelled

Mysti shrank back into her seat

A few more aurors came to join Kingsley and they spoke in whispers behind her back.

"If you are unable to provide a location of Barty Crouch Jr then we have no choice but to use you to lure him out" Kingsley stated

Mysti was appalled

"You can't do that, my family would neve-

Kingsley cut her off

"Your family has no power anymore Lestrange!
They are yet to be convicted Death Eaters no one can save you"

Tears fell from Mysti's eyes

"Stop it! You're scaring the poor girl" an older woman came to Mysti's side passing her a handkerchief

Mysti frowned as she looked at the woman. Her eyes widened

"You-you look like" 

"You're mother" the woman finished

Mysti nodded

"Well young lady, you look rather like her too" the woman added smiling

"Who- Mysti started

"I'm Andromeda, I'm the other Aunt you have"

Another tear fell from Mysti's eyes

"I want to go home" she said looking at her Aunt

"All you have to do is tell-

"I don't know where he is" Mysti finished

Andromeda nodded before going to talk to the aurors

When she returned she had a glass of water for Mysti

"What's going on" she asked

Andromeda sighed

"They are prepared to let you go home but they want to accompany you and search your home"

"They want to search the Manor? Barty won't have gone there" Mysti replied

"No I don't think they believe he would of"

Then something clicked in Mysti's head

"They want the Malfoy's, don't they" Mysti asked turning to her aunt

Andromeda said nothing

Mysti looked around before her eyes settled on the glass on the table. She picked it up and chugged the whole thing

"I'm going to use the bathroom" she said to Andromeda

Mysti got up and headed in the direction of the bathroom for two minutes and then ran to Barty's classroom. She bolted up the stairs grabbing a long coat, and his Firebolt she descended the stairs and cracked the door carefully looking to see if the coast was clear

She ran into the corridor finding an exit from the castle out of the greenhouses. She threw Barty's coat on pulling the hood up before mounting the broom and taking into the air.

Mysti flew over over hogsmeade and the small towns that surrounded Hogwarts, she felt a sudden freedom.

After flying for over and hour London came into view. It wouldn't take Mysti long before she reached the Manor. The city began to thin out and vast fields came into view. Suddenly a spell hit her broom and Mysti came rushing to meet the ground.

When Mysti opened her eyes she was lying down in a bed in a place that she didn't recognise. The room was rather shabby looking, the bed creaked as she got up to search the room for her wand, but she came up short. The room lacked windows and the door appeared to be bolted shut, there was no way for her to tell where she had landed. She sat back down on the bed exhaling loudly, in the distance she heard the cry of a rooster. All she knew for certain was that she certainly hadn't made it home.
