Father and daughter stood their ground, the pair glaring at their estranged family member with the drive to kill.
Akuhei stood in the snow, opposite. He remained non-chalent, as if pushing their aggression aside.
Spirit led Maka aside. "Stay with Soul. I've got this."
"Okay. Be careful." She replied, her voice shaking. She approached her weapon and stood beside him. Soul guarded her, closely- protecting her,
She watched as her father sunk his feet into the snow with every step he took. He was face to face with Akuhei. The Death Scythe drew a blade out and took the first blow.
It cut through Akuhei's arm, and a dark coloured liquid flowed out.
"Black blood!" Crona exclaimed. "He's full of it. Must have been mother's doing."
"What does the black blood stuff exactly do?" Black Star asked.
"It acts like an armour- much like Ragnarok does for me. Unlike that guy though, I can control it."
"Crona!" Ragnarok screeched. "You little wimp-"
"Hey!"
"You just said the answer." Ragnarok replied. "My scream might affect this guy."
"Really? How?!" Tsubaki asked.
"The only one who is immune to the screech are myself, Crona, and reapers. It wouldn't have worked on Asura, because he was a descendant of the reaper. However-"
"However, that guy was born a human!" Soul added.
"Exactly."
"Also, I can shield you guys with my wavelength, just as long as you're all behind me and out of the path." Crona explained.
Maka shook her head. "But papa's in front. He'll get hurt!"
"Maka, remember Italy? Where we first met?" Crona reminded her. "Your dad and Professor Stein came in to save you and Soul."
"Yes, but-"
"Your dad has an odd resistance to Ragnarok's scream!"
"Huh!?" Maka exclaimed, watching the combat between her father and grandfather carrying on. She looked back to Crona. "What?"
"He wasn't injured by my scream, you dopey girl! He probably lost his bearings at most!" Ragnarok grunted.
"Hey! I'm not dopey!" She squealed. "So you're basically gonna use your screech?"
"Yes!"
"Be quick! Papa's getting tired; he could slip up anytime soon!"
Crona stepped forward. "Everyone get behind me."
Everyone else obliged, as Crona used his wavelength to match with everyone else.
"I hope I can deal with this... Go, Ragnarok!"
The screech was near deafening. Everyone covered their ears.
Much to the delight of the team, Akuhei keeled over, and vomited up black blood as he suffered.
Spirit swayed slightly, feeling dizzy, but stayed standing.
"ACK! What was that?!" Akuhei growled.
"Seems to me your master created a weapon that can weaken you with only a scream." Spirit gestured to Crona, who stood, facing his blade towards the Kishin. The red mouth on the base had it's lips tightly shut.
"Crap. She should've eliminated him."
"Nope." A voice chimed. Justin had returned, holding Medusa back. She had been weakened considerably, one of her legs missing.
She hissed. "Don't worry. I am a snake. It'll grow back."
"Not before you're eliminated, Witch." Justin argued. He threw her on the ground, and stood on her bony back. "I'll cut up all of your limbs on my guillotine until you're just a head."
Medusa screamed. "You're evil!"
"Not really. I'm just doing my service to the Lord."
"Crona! It's not too late to come back!"
Crona shook his head. "Nope. Sorry. I don't think I can deal with that."
"Crona!"
Akuhei turned to his opponent, weakened still and lunged at him. He managed to deeply cut into Spirit's shoulder.
"Hah! Got ya!"
"Shit!" Spirit groaned as the snow beside his feet began to be stained red. "I can't let you win."
He threw himself forward and missed his attack. He fell onto the powdery sheet of snow. He struggled to get up.
"SPIRIT!" Soul bellowed in fear.
"PAPA!" Maka screamed, wielding Soul.
"No! Maka, Soul, Stay back!" Spirit shouted back.
Akuhei stood over him, pinning him with his foot. "How sweet. Say your goodbyes, however, cause it's time to die."
"NO!"
"DIE!" Akuhei shouted, unleashing his blade for attack.
"Oh no you don't!"
A blunt object hit him over the head. A Mjolnir.
Marie.
As Akuhei hit the floor, Marie continued to pound him, her hammer erupting out of her right arm.
"Hey, old man! Remember me?! Hah! Probably not, after this!" She slammed his face, in an angry frenzy. "You're a dead man for hurting my best friend."
"Marie! Let me wield you." Stein shouted.
"Sure, sweetheart!" She shouted, fully transforming and landing in the grip of the Professor.
Another figure followed behind. "SPIRIT!"
Spirit looked up. "KAMI!"
Kamiki reached a close enough distance. "Transform! I got this!"
"Right!"
For the first time in what seemed forever, she held Spirit in his scythe form. She caught sight of him in the blade's reflection. His hand held his right shoulder, bare and bleeding heavily.
"Kami. I haven't got much time left."
"Don't say that. We have. We can't lose." Kami denied. "Let's fight."
"I'll do my best."
"Good." She readied her position. "Stein! Get ready! Sid and Mira should be here to help shortly! Justin- keep hold of that bitch!" Kami ordered, as she watched Akuhei prepare to attack. "And you, you little bastard?" She glared at her enemy. "Get ready to die."
She ran at full speed at Akuhei, and swiped at him with the scythe. She cut deeply into him in three different places.
He swung back.
He missed.
She sliced through his stomach, making him keep over. Before she could attack anywhere else though, he ran his blade on her calf, making her fall.
"No!"
"NOT MY MOM TOO, YOU BASTARD!"
Her eyes widened as she watched her daughter run at full pelt, wielding Soul, towards Akuhei.
"TAKE THIS!" Maka screamed, dragging Soul's blade across his body.
Meanwhile, in his weapon form, Soul sat at the piano that had appeared in front of him.
His fingers traced the keys, whilst glancing up at the portraits of the people he loved.
He saw his mother and father's; his grandmother; his older brother, Wes; and his older sister, Serenity. He also saw friends- Black Star, Tsubaki, Patty, Liz, Kid, Crona. He even saw the teachers of the school. All of them filled the wall in front of him. The biggest portrait stood directly in front of him. The person he loved the most.
Maka's portrait.
"Maka..." He spoke to himself. His fingers glided across the keys, playing a beautiful medley. "Your wavelength creates such a beautiful song. Quite fitting."
As his playing continued, the bond between his and Maka's wavelengths had gotten stronger.
The others had began fighting alongside them. Soul managed to stretch out his wavelength for group resonance.
"Let's do this."
"Good job, Soul! The girls are charging up the power to do a high power attack!" Kid said, holding Patty and Liz's weapon form.
In their weapon embodiments, Liz and Patty looked at each other.
"Are we strong enough to charge up?"
"Yes. Let's do it, Patty." Liz confirmed to her sister.
"Okay, Sis! Kid? Are you ready?" Patty asked.
Kid nodded. "I'm always ready. Let us rid the world of disorderly garbage."
As they began to do their high power attack, Black Star readied to do an attack.
"I know this is dangerous, Tsubaki, but I have to use the enchanted sword mode."
"I know. Remember, I'm by your side. If you weaken, then use the chain scythe instead and tie him up."
"Understood!" Black Star nodded. "Following your lead, Soul."
"Alright." Soul began. "Maka?"
"Yeah?"
"I think we should use Kishin hunter."
"I know."
Soul looked at the keys in front of him. "Be careful."
"I will." Maka nodded, nervous.
"Maka."
"Yes?"
"Remember this for me."
Maka listened up. "What is it?"
"I love you."
Maka felt herself choke up, before composing herself. "I love you too. More than anything. Let's do this together, okay?"
Soul grinned. "Yes! Now let's do this."
They both chanted out loud. "LET'S GO! SOUL RESONANCE!"
Their souls resonated with more power than they had ever done so before, and with that, Soul's blade grew and glowed brightly.
Spirit gazed at the sight. "Good... That's good." He forced himself up, to the horror of Kami.
"Spirit!"
"You can't walk. At least I have functioning legs!" Spirit told her. "You can still resonate with me."
"Okay."
Medusa sniggered. "Good luck trying to do that without dying."
"Shut up, you abusive hag." A voice spat. "You should've died a long time ago."
"FROG!" The witch bellowed. "What are you and that bumpkin doing here?"
Eruka stood back, Tadpole Jackson guarding her and Free. "You. I'll never work for you. I can't wait for the Kishin's soul to be destroyed so you go with him!"
"You're on their side?! You're a dishonourable witch!" Medusa barked. "How dare you of tainting the reputation of the Witch Order!"
Eruka shook her head. "No. How dare you!"
"Nake, Snake, Cobra, Cobra!" Medusa began to chant a spell, before being bombarded with a flurry of Eruka's spells.
Black Star went in with the attack whilst Akuhei was distracted. He got him in the back, but was slapped back.
Moments after, bullets erupted from the twin pistols in full capacity.
Out of nowhere became three more teams of attacks. Kim and her lantern, Jackie; Ox and Harvar; and Sid and Nygus. They obliterated him, until none of them had much stamina.
All that was left was Maka and Soul, and Spirit.
"And then there was two." Akuhei laughed, before coughing up more black blood.
"You're going to die!" Maka announced. "YOUR SOUL IS MINE!" She ran forward at the same time as her father and they both struck, both wielding a Kishin hunter blade.
Both blades went through, though Akuhei hung on by a thread, gushing with black blood, his blades baring.
Both Maka and Spirit fell to the ground. They had been stabbed in the side by him.
"Bad luck." He wheezed.
"Yeah, for you." A voice retorted. The sword he held then swung effortlessly through his body.
The mortal blow. Akuhei fell to the ground, limp and lifeless.
Dead.
"And they all called me the worst meister ever." Hero spoke out bluntly, holding Rinko's sword form, which turned into her human form, holding his hand.
He looked towards the father and daughter pair. "Oh shit."
Maka was keeled over, slumped in her father's arms. She bled rapidly.
Soul erupted out of weapon and grabbed hold of her. "Maka... No. Please!"
"I'll be okay." She whispered, holding on as much as possible. "We need to destroy the Soul."
"I've got this.... Hngh." Spirit struggled to stand, placing his injured daughter in the arms of her weapon. "Protect her."
"I will. I promise." Soul said. He rested his head on Maka's, burying his face into her hair.
Spirit nodded. He turned towards the large burning soul in front of him.
"You won't be able to do it!"
"Really? Medusa... Give up."
"You're weak." Medusa wheezed. "You won't be able to destroy it. If you do, you'll die."
"I don't care." Spirit argued. "I much rather die and save everyone here, than let some vermin like you live another day."
"Suit yourself."
"Yeah."
He grasped the soul in his hands; it was slightly hot to touch. He felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist.
She rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm here."
Spirit sighed, smiling slightly. "Kamiki. Bet this wasn't how you pictured seeing me and Maka again."
"Nope."
He felt his strength return for a moment, and he sent his wavelength through the soul. The soul erupted to dust- its flames flickering out.
"It's done." Stein spoke out.
Medusa's body lacked in movement and any form of life. She was dead.
Nygus and Eruka rushed down with emergency medical supplies for the injured.
Soon, everyone- severely or only slightly injured- was patched up.
After she was bandaged up, Maka lifted her head up, so Soul was on her vision. She smiled at him, her eyes welling up. "We did it!"
The sight of her emotions brought tears to his own eyes. Soul stroked her cheek.  "Yeah, we did!"
His forehead touched hers and they grinned at each other.
"How adorable! Am I invited to the wedding?" They heard a familiar voice tease.
"MAMA!" Maka squealed, although hesitating from the pain. "You're mean!"
"I know!" Kami laughed, limping towards her young daughter. She sat next to her and hugged her in the snow. "Your papa should be doing okay soon."
"That's good! How's your leg?" Maka asked.
"It's fine! A bit sore but I'm lucky I didn't damage anything important. Should heal in a few weeks. Your side?"
"Very sore but I'll be okay! I'm showing no signs of internal bleeding, anyway." Maka explained.
"I'm glad you're okay, Mak. You too, Kami." Soul added.
"You too, Eater!"
