An Idea For A Change

The day of the contest had come. Ash, accompanied with Gary and of course, Serena, was there. They were getting ready for Ash's speech about his invention, the Feeling Chip. Serena went to the back, where Ash was practicing

"Testing, testing,... breathe in, breathe out..." Ash tried to be as comfortable as possible when she approached him

"You nervous?" She asked

"A bit, yeah. I haven't talked in front of this much people" Ash said

"Look, you can do this. This is your idea, well, technically it's from my head, but you made this. You have to show the world. Just be confident" Serena said

"Wow, since when you became such inspirational?"

"No idea. The author wants me to say that" She said. And for the first time ever, the fourth wall was broken

"Okay, let's get to our table" Ash said and went to their table, when Gary was testing something

"Hey Ashy-boy, you may want to see this" Gary said and pointed at the computer screen. The electronic number was lower then the day it was tested.

"So what?" Ash asked

"Look, for the best result, we need the result we made when the chip was made. That means we need to find a robot to prove that it works" Gary explained. Ash didn't expect this. He didn't know he needed a robot as a test subject. He couldn't make a quick robot because the time was ticking, and that made he seemed very hesitated and worried.

"Ash, how about... I become the test subject for today" Serena volunteered and Ash, of course, was shocked about this

"Serena, no. I know you don't want to do this. You don't have to" Ash said

"Ash, I know what is best for us. I'll do this, for you" She said. Ash still seemed a bit hesitated but he nodded as a yes. He didn't have to change the chip inside her, since the new one was based on the one she had.

The contest started as many inventors talked about their inventions. However, the judges weren't impressed. What they were looking for was a break-out idea for the future. The contest came to an end as Ash was the last inventor to talk about his invention. He walked out with Gary at the computer table, and Serena as the volunteer

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today I am going to talk about my newest invention, that will change the view of the world" Ash said in front of the crowd, bit they didn't have attention on him. They were pointing and talking about Serena. Ash knew they recognized she was the slave robot of Flare Corp. She didn't feel comfortable with the comments she received, so Ash finally spoke out

"Look, I don't know if this robot girl has something similar to what you are thinking. But please, have some respect for her. She also has feeling like us humans" Ash said then continued on his presentation. He showed them the chip

"This is the Feeling Chip, my newest invention. This chip will help robots have feeling like us. So they will become much more "alive". By inserting this in the robots, they will have reactions, so they can react to something they have to face or something they have to encounter. This way will help us understand the robots, and maybe develop our feeling for other person" Ash explained, then he brought out a chart. "This was the result of the chip, comparing to the ordinary chip. As you can see, the electronic number of Feeling is higher than the ordinary one. That means the robot will be much more functional"

The judges were interested in what Ash said, but they wanted to see more

"We want to see the live result here. Is that robot already installed the chip?" One of the judges said

"Yes. If you want to see it, I'll prove it" Then Ash took some electrical wires and plugged them behind Serena. She felt the pain, but she tried to forget it

"Okay, I'm going to charge the electric into your body to get the information and the electronic number. But you might feel paralyzed. Are you fine with it?" Ash whispered to Serena and she nodded nervously

"As long as this presentation can prove those judges, I'll do it" She said. Ash then signaled Gary to charge the electric into Serena. She started to feel painful and grip her clothes. Ash saw this and he was about to unplug them, but she slapped his hand away, telling him to continue.

The progress kept going until the final result appeared on the screen. The number was 12000, which meant the test was successful, and also meant Ash was right. The crowd started applauding him, and so did the judges.

"Ashy-boy, we did it!" Gary said, gave Ash a tight bro hug

"Gary... air...!" Ash said while coughing. He unplugged the wires from Serena, and after he unplugged the last one, she collapsed to the ground and deactivated herself

"Thanks, Serena. I owe you one" Ash said and went to the back, when suddenly a man walked to him. He was wearing a hoodie, covering his face

"You're Ash Ketchum, right?" The man asked

"Yes. How can I help you?" Ash said

"Can you come with us for a moment? We need to talk about your future"

"Sure, sir! Gary, can you charge her, to help her activate again?" Ash asked and Gary nodded, then he came along with the man

They walked outside and Ash saw a scene. There was a van parking in front of them, and it looked like it was waiting for them

"So, about my future?" Ash asked

"Yes, your future will be showed, in HELL!" The man said and punched Ash hard, made him collapse

"Who... who are you...?" Ash asked

"Let's just say I'm someone you knew before" He said before he stomped Ash hard in the stomach. Ash's vision started to be blurry. He only knew he was taken into the van, before he blacked out
