Gosh, what's wrong with me today?

Anyway, that video is the one haunting my brain this week. So in case this chapter is so dark, just watch it if you want to.

Also, after one or two more chapters, I'll take a short break (about 2 weeks) for my exam, so don't rush me, you got that, you... baka?

Ash woke up on a bed, in a room, covered with white. There were lights everywhere and it was so cold. He blinked his eyes multiple times and he could feel something heavy was on top of him

"Oh, Ashy-boy, you're awake" Gary, who was sitting next to the bed, said. Ash turned his head to see him

"Oh, Gary, where am I?" He asked

"You're in the hospital, Ashy-boy. You were unconscious and I had to take you here. You've been sleeping for 12 hours, Ash" Gary said.

"Oh, and where's Serena? Please don't tell me she's being kept at Alain's place" Ash said in a worried tone

"Luckily, Serena is fine. Just lean your head up a bit and you'll see her" Gary said suspiciously. Ash looked up a bit and found Serena. She was on top of him, with her lips only centimeters away from his

"GARY!" Ash grinned his teeth and shouted

"Oh c'mon. I know you want it. Kiss the girl, Ash. That's your chance" Gary smirked

"This book is not The Little Mermaid, Gary!" Ash said and "accidentally" broke the fourth wall. Gary's smiling face turned into a serious one, which Ash noticed

"What? You realized the readers are trying to break in" Ash asked

"No, we can pay for it. What I want to say is the last scene" Gary said

"Which one? I don't understand"

"Ash, you saw that, right? The dark red energy wave"

"Not really. After Alain hit the pole on my spine, I was almost unconscious. All I heard before I blacked out was Serena shouting my name" Ash said. Gary started to explain

"When I was recovering from the beat up, I saw Serena discharged a dark red energy wave. I also saw her body was surrounded by a red aura and her eyes turned red, not from crying. She looked just like Goku, turned into a different form from shouting" He said and Ash started to think about something.

"Look, Ash. I believe there is something inside Serena, something we haven't known before. When you leave this misery hospital, make sure to keep an eye on her, got it?" Gary asked and Ash nodded

"But now what should I do with her?" Ash pointed at Serena, who still lying on him

"Your choice. Kiss her or push her, choose quickly" Gary smirked

"Why did you do this to me, Oak Wood?" Ash asked

"Well, I asked the hospital if they still had an extra bed, but they didn't have any. After all, you don't want her to lie on the floor, right?" Gary said and Ash nodded, but he realized he was listening to a guy sitting on the other bed.

"Yeah, no extra bed..." Ash said sarcastically, then he felt something moving on top of him. Serena was awake from the talk. She rubbed her eyes then looked down to see Ash

"Ash...?" She asked and he nodded.

"Look, I'm leaving now. Just call me if you need something" Gary said and left, leaving Ash and Serena in the room.

"Serena, are you o-" Ash got cut of by a sudden hug from Serena. He could feel his clothes was getting wet

"I THOUGHT I WOULD LOSE YOU FOREVER!" Serena shouted and cried louder. She hugged him tighter and gripped his clothes

"Shh... it's okay... I'm here... I'm still alive, see?" Ash stroked her metallic hair and lifted her chin, wiped away her tears. Her frown was about to turn into a smile, but it was still the same when she looked at his arm. There was a bandage wrapped his arm, but the red spot on the bandage of blood was visible

"Oh Ash, your arm..." Serena said

"What happened to my- Oh sh-"

"Don't worry. Don't move much. The pain could be worse" Serena said and he nodded. Her frown turned into a smile again. She laid her head on his chest, and Ash noticed a card in her waistcoat's pocket

"Hey, Serena. What's inside your pocket?" Ash asked. She took out the card and handed it to Ash

"There's a man named Clemont gave this to me. He asked me to hand it to you and I agreed" Serena said and Ash widened his eyes

"Clemont Citronic?" Ash asked

"Yeah, something like that" - Serena said and frowned - "I know you're going to work for this company soon, but when you're gone, try not to forget me, okay?"

Ash looked at her and remembered about her fear of loneliness. It hurted him when he saw that. He then thought out something

"Hey, I'm not going to work alone. Not without my personal assistant" Ash said

"What's "personal assistant" you say?" Serena asked

"It's someone who help you with the invention or with your work, and they work only with you. So Serena, wanna be my personal assistant?" Ash asked and she covered her mouth. She hugged him tight and burried her face in his shoulder

"Yes, Ash! I'd love to!" She said happily. She knew from that time she would be Ash's assistant. She broke the hug and stared at Ash's eyes, so did he.

Her cerulean blue color met his chocolate brown eyes. They gazed at each other for a while, then they started to lean in. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he wrapped his around her waist. Their lips were just centimeters apart, just a small movement could change everything, until...

"Hey you two! This is a hospital, not some sort of hotel!" They looked up and Serena turned her head to see a doctor stood in front of a door. Ash's face went crimson red, while Serena let out the biggest steam she'd ever had and she rolled to the extra bed

"Look, Ash Ketchum. You can leave the hospital tomorrow, but tonight, get some sleep." The doctor said and left. They looked at each other with embarrassment

"Well, that was... something" Ash said and scratched his neck

"Yeah, I don't know why did we do that" Serena said while covering her face with her hair.

"I think he's right. We should take some sleep"

"Okay, whatever you say, Ash" Serena then lied on the other bed and was about to sleep

"Oh, and if you meet another nightmare, you know what to do" Ash said and she nodded, then both of them drifted to sleep. However, Ash couldn't stop thinking about the energy Gary told him

"What's up with the dark red energy? Is that some kind of bad sign?"

What would happen in the next chapter?
