Al and I were supposed to be boarding a boat back to the Order, but it was postponed due to a large storm in the area that had made traveling my water difficult.

“Allen! Ali!” We heard a familiar squeaky voice call from the crowd of people in the same situation as us.

“Lenalee!” Al and I cheered in unison

Al and I decided to stuff our faces in a nearby restaurant while we all waited for the storm to let up.

“This storm’s getting nasty!” Lenalee said starring out the window next to our table.

“Uh huh.” I could pretend to be upset, but to be honest I would rather sit here and eat than sit on another man-made deathtrap.

“I went over to Spain recently to collect some innocence, but it turns out it wasn’t there. What about you two? Tell me all about your visit with General Yeegar.”

“He’s a very nice man.” Al said patting his probably only half full stomach

“Why did you have to ignore me when I said he was a nice person? All that stress could’ve been avoided…” I started, but was cut off

“I was deeply moved when he encouraged me like I was one of his own students.” Al explained

“Did you just ignore me?” I felt a vein pop on my forehead, but decided it wasn’t worth it to argue with him.

“This really brings back memories from when I was with the general. He taught me a lot.” Lenalee said sipping some coffee

“I think he could always return to teaching if this didn’t work out.” Al smiled

“That’s for sure.” I said scarfing down a whole plate of food

~Time skip~

“This is headquarters. General Yeegar is under attack by the Clan of Noah, and needs back up!” The other side of the phone said causing Al to stand abruptly and me to drop the coffee cup I was drinking out of to the floor.

“General…” Al whispered. I threw my scarf around my neck, and darted out the door.

‘Hang on grandpa! I’m coming!’ I thought to myself

~Time skip~

When we finally got to the place where grandpa was supposed to be, we found akuma corpses all around his now destroyed stagecoach.

‘If…if the akuma are dead…grandpa must be alive, right?’ I thought to myself trying ignore the very real possibility that he could be dead.

I made my way through the rubble carefully until I spotted Thierry standing in the rain staring off into space.

“Thierry!” I called to him

“Where is he?” Al demanded

“It’s bad…” Thierry said looking to his right, and I followed his gaze to a nearby tree. Chains rustled against it and a cloth was flying about, but I couldn’t see, so I walked up closer to it to get a better look. When I finally could see what everyone was so scarred by, I was horrified. Grandpa was bound to the tree with his own chains, and the only thing what was there to cloth his now naked body was a tattered cloth.

“How could this happen?!” Al yelled

“N-No! No no no no no NO!” I repeated to myself until I saw grandpa’s arm move

“General Yeegar?” Al said hoping for a response

“Pierre get him down!” I yelled

“What?” The confused Finder sniffled

DO IT!” I screamed at him

“Y-Yes!” He stuttered

~Time skip~

“Is he all right?” Komui said as he burst through the door of grandpa’s hospital room

“Far from it…” I mumbled trying not to make eye contact with anyone, so I could hide the dry tear tracks on my face. We all took a step back to give Komui a clear view of my now mentally unstable grandfather who was sitting in the corner of the room with a dazed look on his face.

“Dear god!” Komui gasped

Grandpa began to sing:

The Lord Millennium is in search of you.

Looking for the heart now, have you heard the news?

I was not the one he sought, maybe it is you?

Looking for the heart now, have you heard the news?

“Looking for the heart?” Al asked as I tried to comfort Thierry and Pierre

“It’s a piece of innocence that holds special significance. Its power is so great, we call it the heart.” Komui explained

“It is the source of power for every piece of innocence on the Earth. It also has the ability to render every other piece useless.” Bookman added

“We must obtain the heart at whatever cost it takes. In order to gain the power to prevent the end of humanity. The Earl is looking for the heart as well.” Komui said mostly to himself

Grandpa started to sing the song again as soon as Komui said the last word.

“I’ll kill him. I’ll make sure I’m the one to kill him, even if I die in the process. Let my voice reach you Earl.” I hissed as if I was talking to the Earl himself
