As we followed Tim, I told everybody about how I got my scars.

“It all started in China. I was travelling with grandpa er…General Yeegar and some of his finders that I had thought of as my brothers, Thierry and Pierre. They would often go out to find innocence, and leave me to my own devices. As usual, I went out to go look around and get a few souvenirs for myself and my new family. I was walking back to the stagecoach since they would be coming back soon, and decided I could get there quicker if I took a short cut through an alley I had seen while walking around, and of course I got lost…

~Flashback~

“Okay, so I think that if I go this way…nope another dead-end.” I sighed at my lack of direction.

“Are you lost?” A taller man in his late twenties asked

“Yeah, do you know how to get out of this stupid maze?” I asked finally happy to go home

“Yeah, follow me.” He said turning corner after corner

“Are you sure we’re going the right way?” I said. It was already starting to get dark, and I needed to get home.

“Yeah, the exit’s just around this corner.” He said pointing to the left.

“Thanks.” I bowed, and as soon as I turned the corner something was forced against my face making me fall asleep.

~End of Flashback~

“So much for ‘Don’t talk to strangers right?” I laughed a little trying to lighten the mood

“So what happened next?” Al asked, but it was clear he’d already regretting asking me. I sighed.

“Next thing I knew I was in a cell with a bunch of other girls…”

~Flashback~

“Let me go! I wanna go home!” 13 year-old me screamed from a cell somewhere.

“Shut the hell up! You’re so fucking noisy!” One of the men holding me captive yelled back

“I wouldn’t be so noisy if you’d let me leave!”

“Do I have to get the wire again?” Another man hissed

I spat at him causing his short temper to ignite itself.

"You don't scare me." I hissed

“You little shit!” He yelled dragging me out of my cell and picking up the wire he'd always use when one of us misbehaved

I let out a shrill scream as the wire cut my arms, legs, and stomach over and over again.

“You need to learn to shut up when I tell you to!” He yelled again

~End of flashback~

“It went on like this for a month until I was finally sold in Europe. My hair had grown out to my ankles and my body was filthy and covered in scars…, so my owner had decided to cut my hair and dress me up to make me look presentable. I don’t know why he went through all the trouble, but his intentions couldn’t have been good… However, before I could get to my new prison, we were attacked by akuma and my owner was killed.” A frown spread itself across my face, but was wiped away before anyone could notice.

“I screamed for help and at the terrible noise that General Yeegar told me was always bad news, but when I opened my eyes the akuma were blowing up for what seemed like no reason. When I looked at my reflection in a nearby lake while running away  having noticed the weird feeling in it, I noticed it had two green rings separating it from the rest of my body and my throat itself had gone from its normal blood red color to a metallic silver. I had learned to use my innocence in the months leading up to Kanda finding me killing akuma he must've been after. He dragged me back to the Order afterwards. I became an exorcist in order to find General Yeegar, Thierry, and Pierre, but they're all dead...” I felt tears start to form at the edges of my eyes, and tried to blink them away

“It’s okay to cry…” Al said trying to be considerate

“I don't want to cry anymore, but the tears won't stop..." I sniffled and wiped them away with the sleeve of my jacket

“You don't have to cry anymore. You can come to us.” Lavi offered

“Yeah, we’re all family now.” Lenalee smiled

‘What if I can’t protect my family again? Something tells me I’m meant to be alone…’ I thought to myself

“Thanks…” I said smiling sadly
