“Wait, where are all the ships?” Al asked a man standing near the empty dock

“They come every other day.” A man nearby explained

“But, don’t passenger ships come here every day?” I asked

“There aren’t enough ships for that anymore, since most of them have been sunken.”

“What’s causing that?” Al asked

“Pirates!” A kid yelled along with his friends

“Pirates?” Al and I repeated in unison

“You brats and your stories! Keep tellin lies like that, and it’ll come back to haunt ya!” The man yelled at them

“I don’t care if you believe me or not, but pirates are responsible for this!” The kid yelled again. The man picked up a broom and started chasing them with it.

“One day I’m going to get my hands on those kids!”

“Are there really pirates?” I asked the man

“Our coral reefs do more damage than those pirates. At low tide, there are rocks that are difficult for even the most experienced sailors to navigate around even in daylight! Of course, at night it’s nearly impossible. No one who’s crashed there has ever survived, but those kids and their imaginations.”

“We’re in a bit of a hurry. Are there any ships available today?” Al asked

“It’s like I told you, ships come every other day.”

“Guess we’re staying here tonight.” Al said

“Yay!” I cheered

“We checked in an inn, and I saw the kids from earlier being scolded by the innkeeper.

“Whose kids are those?” Al asked

“The leader’s mine.” The innkeeper sighed

“He seems rather energetic.” I laughed

Too energetic if you ask me.”

Allen decided to do his weird push-ups outside while I was reading.

“Hey, Al.”

“Yeah?”

“Remember when we were like them?”

“No.” Al said after a few seconds

“Oh, really? You don’t remember locking me in a train car with a bunch of monkeys?” I asked slowly inching my way to him. If he apologizes I won’t kick him into the wall.

“Heh heh. Did I do that?” He laughed nervously

“I still haven’t gotten my revenge for it, brother.” I hissed

Before I could attempt to kill him, the kids from earlier took Timcampy.

“Hey!” I yelled at him

Then, they were introducing themselves with some stupid nicknames that only kids could come up with. I would be laughing if they didn’t have Tim, so instead Al and I sweatdropped.

“What’s your names, huh?” The leader said

“Allen/Allison.” We said in unison

“Congratulations! You two have become candidates to join our pirate group!” One of the kids cheered
