I rested my head on my husband's shoulder, my arms wrapped around his neck as his hands held my waist while we lightly swayed.

Beautiful music played in the banquet hall as all our friends and family watched us dance together for the first time as husband and wife.

The bruises from last night were covered with a little help from the magical guru that is my sister.

I couldn't help but hold Louie a little tighter, knowing how much guilt he still must feel after the incident.

I just wanted to hold him in my arms.

After the hell that we've been through, all I could think about Louie's endearing smile whenever we would stay up late and talk about the years that have passed.

Or whenever I would look over at him and he'd already be looking at me.

I even thought about those times so long ago, in high school, when we would lay underneath the bleachers and talk for what seemed like forever

The song was over far too soon, so I stood up straight with an adoring smile as I looked up at this man who was my hero.

"I love you." I whispered as the crowd cheered for us, my hand resting on his chest.

He lightly smiled before glancing at my lips, he slowly and carefully leaned into me, planting a sweet kiss on my pink lips.

I smiled into the kiss, knowing we would make it.

He lead me over to the table as the guests were invited to dance, our hands never parted as we found our spots at the head of the table.

'Deja, I would give you my heart today, but I've realized that you've had it for many years.' I looked over at Louie as his vows played in my head, I caught him staring again, 'So, instead I will give you my word that it is yours until the day I die. And every second after that. I vow to you, today, in front of friends, family and God himself, that I will always strive to be the best husband,' He chuckled before he started to lean towards me, 'To be the father I've always wanted to be,' His soft lips brushed against mine, 'and a better person, for you, the love of my life, my hero and my most prized possession.' I could hear his soothing voice as I closed my eyes, our lips coming together.

'I will build a house for you and I, and for the little feet that I hope to hear someday. However, I will never do dishes, or laundry or the cooking..' I opened my eyes as we broke apart, my smile adoring as I looked at his pretty eyes, 'Without knowing you are taken care of with a cup of tea as you sit on our porch swing that I will build you.' I smiled even wider as I thought about him trying to pull a fast one on me.

A/N don't fret, homie, there's more to come 🙂
