I stroke the leaping lawn, in wistful March.
A vicious vice of vibrant, vintage verdure.
It tremors, stoic, underneath my stroke,
The bare-backed, silent nod of a silent worker.

A sheath of perforated, tawny wisps
Of leaf and flower on this lea is strewn,
That wax and wane as dirty, earthy moons,
Returning spring's rejuvenating kiss.

Transparent rainbows of a sprinkler roll,
Providing mother earth with mother arms,
Purging the air of mumbling mosquitoes,
That swarm around, in doodles comatose,
Composed of water, and by love embalmed-
The man-made sprinklers and their natural arms.

If not the airborne pests, the infantry,
Does wondrous work of clean embracing me.
I watch as hordes of ants atop my shin,
Traverse my tummy, scale my arm and chin,
Allowing little heed for my unease,
The troop of six-legged siblings once released
Upon my body, roams with expertise.

My jersey has been soaking salty humour,
Entrapping burrs of dainty dandelion,
That slice the wind as truth is sliced ny rumour,
By weather toyed with, chainless, death defiant.

If gardens were my lovers, I would be
Forever banished from formality.

For through this realm by rue or ruse forsaken,
I find honesty thriving in the air,
And every flower reeks of truth unshaken,
And ostracised lie custom and footwear,
And even at the cost of my comfort,
I find my spirits sprawled within the dirt.

From writer, reader, down to toiling mason,
From filthy wealthy, down to filthy layman,
Within this garden, homely and misshapen-
Discover every static soul awaken.

A/N- Same literary universe as Corner? Maybe maybe. I think I overdid the rhyme, sorry. Didn't have the energy for free verse hehe.
