Hoping to soak up
this sunlight. Escape the dark
I have created. The trees are leafless,
but blooming. I watch a kite
shake in the branches. There are no clouds. The
blue atmosphere vibrates at
some unknown distance.I want to pull the
horizon over me like
a well-worn blanket.It dances away
from me. Another thing I
cannot hold onto. The sun does not wash
away heaviness. It is
brick-baked inside me.My head is cloudless,
petals are blown away, I
rip myself apart.Warmth does not ripple
past the surface. Remember:
where there's sun, there's shade.---
