with a bang (because i'm tired of whimpers)

Won't you join me in this trust fall
life? I am part of this shattered meteor,
and I'll make my wishes on my burning
bones as my flaming laugh scorches
in the atmosphere. I will zoom my smoke
trail like breadcrumbs for you to follow.

My orbit's swung drunk, lost in the grips
of gravity. Call it a crash and burn
or running on fumes, but the fire
is all love-colored, and I am undone
by my own warm thunder.

I think that maybe we are all in freefall,
surface lunging in the stratosphere.
I am collecting all our meteor fragments
to remember how we once,
(how we've always)
belonged
as a whole.
