I'm going on vacation for two weeks and I know I won't do diddly squat, and I probably won't even look at my phone for those two weeks.

It's been a few days since Katherine gave birth to Alex and now she's finally released from the hospital. When she got home there were all kinds of flowers and balloons everywhere that filled up the living room.

"Who are all of these flowers from?" She asked going over to some to read the inside of the card

"You can read through them later, but right now you need to rest." He said gently pulling her back to the stairs

"Alright, I didn't get much sleep in the hospital anyway."

"Welcome home Ms. Katherine, would you like for me to get you anything in particular?" Anna asked as she took Katherine's emergency bag from her hands

"No thank you, Anna, I'm fine." She said while going up the stairs with the baby

"Anna, if someone comes looking or asking for me, tell them I'm busy and I don't want to be bothered," Michael said

"Yessir, I'll let them know if anyone comes by." She said as he went upstairs to the room

Katherine was changing into a gown while the baby was lying in the bassinet.

"You mind if I join you for a nap as well?" He asked while taking off his shoes

"Don't you have work in a few hours?"

"I did, but I chose to stay here with you." He said climbing into the bed

"That was sweet of you, but you didn't have to. I could manage, and if I needed any extra help, I'm sure Anna wouldn't mind."

"Yeah but it's my responsibility to, besides I didn't want anyone coming here and bothering you while you try and get some sleep." He said as she got in the bed

"Who's going to bother me?"

"Anyone who knows you gave birth. That's why we barely went anywhere because once one person sees' you, then everyone wants to come see you. I didn't want to put that type of stress on you."

"Does that explain all those flowers in the living room?" She asked and he nodded his head

"Yep, but we'll get around to the flowers later. Right now, let's just get a well-deserved nap." He yawned as he draped his arm over her body

After an hour-long nap, Michael woke up and eased his arm off of Katherine's so he wouldn't wake her.

He slid on his black slippers with his initials stitched on them and went downstairs to the kitchen for something to drink.
