LIII: My Girl

Since the pool party at Isabella's house, she talked with Ronnie about spending some time at his house since they are in a relationship now, it would only be fair to spend time at his house instead of hers all the time

He wanted to make sure that everything was perfect before she came over and wanted to really impress her. He didn't live in a six bedroom house or a rich neighborhood, but he wanted her to be comfortable

"Who's snacks are those on the kitchen counter?" Bobby, Ronnie's little brother asked coming to the doorway of his room

"They're mines and don't touch them."

"You can't eat all of those yourself, let me have one."

"They're not all for me, I have a friend coming over."

"Oh, so that's why you spent all morning cleaning the house, today's the day your girlfriends coming over." Bobby teased
"When is she supposed to get here, I wanna meet her."

"You're gonna stay in your room until she leaves because I don't want you to embarrass me."

"Aw come on, please, I promise I won't do anything to embarrass you, at least let me say hi."

"No," Ronnie said as Bobby pouted and folded his arms

"That's not fair."

"Life's not fair, so get over it." He said as the door bell sounded and Ronnie immediately perked up as he began pushing Bobby to his room
"Remember what I said, do not leave this room for any reason, if you do I'll tell mom and dad that you were being bad."

"But what if I have to pee?"

"Hold it." He said as he pushed Bobby into his bedroom and quickly shut the door behind him.

"Coming!" He yelled as he rushed down the hall to the front door, straightened out his shirt, took a deep breath and opened up the door.

"Hey, Ronnie." Isabella happily greeted with a warm smile as she went to give him a hug

"I'm glad you could make it, where's Alex? Why did he leave so soon?" He asked looking down the street and then closing the door behind

"I took the bus and then I walked the rest of the way." She shrugged

"You what?" He asked with surprise as she was confused

"I said I took the bus and I walked, what's wrong with that?"

"By yourself?"

She giggled, "Yeah."

"You're not afraid to walk in a strange neighborhood by yourself?"

"Not really, if I have an idea where I'm going then they're no reason to be afraid. I walk to places all the time, just don't tell my parents, they think I only go to the library."

"For your safety I think it would be best if you at least let them know where you're going. God forbid if something was to happen to you then they'll be worried sick and I don't want them to worry." He said as they walked into the living room and sat down on the couch

"I think about things like that, but I know how my dad is and how overly protective he can get. I know that's his way of showing me love and I'm grateful for it and all the lengths he goes to, to make sure I'm safe but at times it can be a bit much. Hopefully he'll mellow out and won't be so high strung."

"I believe he'll come around."

"I hope so, but until then I'll forever take my mini trips to the library." She grinned as he smiled back

"I made up some snacks for us if you'd like one."

"Thanks, I'll have one."

"Ok, I'll go get them and make yourself comfortable."

"Alright, where's your bathroom, I wasn't expected the ride to be that long." She asked standing up

"Down the hall, and its the first door to the left."

"Thank you." She said as she went off down the hall and Ronnie went into the kitchen to get the snacks together and also get some drinks out the refrigerator

While he was getting things setup, the doorbell rings as he loudly groaned and quickly stomped his way to the door wondering who that was interrupting his time with Isabella

"Ron! The guy I wanted to see." Ronnie sighed as he opened up the door to his nosy next door neighbor, Jeremy, who's always popping up trying to be nosy

"Hey Jeremy, listen, my parents aren't home and they won't be back until later and I'm a little busy right now so I'll see you later." Ronnie said quickly as he tried to shut the door in Jeremy's face but Jeremy stopped it by putting his hand out to stop the door

"I couldn't help but notice that a white girl was walking and had came over here."

Ronnie sighed, "She's not white, she's Italian and Black."

"What is she doing here?"

"She's a friend, okay. Now I really have to go."

"Okay, but can't you at least tell me her name?"

"Some other time." Ronnie said as he quickly shut the door in Jeremy's face, locked it and blew a sigh of relief. He then goes back to the kitchen to get the snacks and drinks, and bring them to the living room to set on the table

As he was about to sit down and wait for Isabella to come back from the bathroom, he heard her talking and then the voice of Bobby.

"I'm going to kill him." Ronnie mumbled to himself as he rushed down the hall and found Isabella standing at Bobby's door talking with him

Once Bobby saw Ronnie approaching them, his smile was instantly erased as he quickly clung to Isabella. "Don't let him lock me back in my room." Bobby said to Isabella as now Ronnie has made it to the doorway

"I thought I told you to not come out until I say so."

"Why don't you let him out of his room, I'm sure he wants a little freedom. What harm could he possibly do?"

"He's a troublemaker and he won't listen."

"Just give him a chance, I'm sure he'll be good."

"Yeah, Ronnie, I promise I'll be good." Bobby chimed in while peeping from behind Isabella

"Alright, but if you get out of line just once, you're going back."

"You won't have to worry, I'm sure you won't even notice him." Isabella said as she took Bobby by the hand and lead him down the hallway as Bobby turned around and stuck his tongue out at Ronnie

Ronnie can't get any play with Bobby and Jeremy stopping him🤚🏾

I think I would've locked the door on Bobby so I'll make sure he's not coming out. 😋
