LXXI: Tour

Three months later

By this time Alex had already graduated high school and had moved to Manhattan to start college in a couple months.

"Daddy, when will I get a chance to go tour some colleges?" Isabella asked as Michael was sitting at his office desk reading

"You lost that opportunity when you decided that you didn't want to become a nurse."

She scoffed, "Really dad? That's not fair!"

"Life's not fair sweetheart, especially when you can't have things your way."

"Why must you do this?"

"Bella I'm a business man, I'm going to put my money into something that I feel that will make money in the long run."

"Is that all you care about? Money, what about my happiness? If I just so happen to become a nurse to satisfy you, will you even care if I like it? No, of course not, as long as I make your pockets fatter with money you don't care about anything else but that." She said as Michael took off his glasses and went over to his couch

"Come sit down." He said patting the spot next to him as she walked over and took a seat

"I want to start off by saying that I love you very much and no amount of money will ever be enough to not love you, I'll love you in spite of whatever you do in life.
Having said that I think I should clarify what I mean, when I say I'm a business man I don't see you as just another dollar sign, but as an essential part of the family business for the future.
Your brothers will need you in times of trouble, so in case if something were to happen you can see about them. I want to make sure that the three of you can coexist with each other and be a helper in need.
I understand now that there's nothing I can say or do to change your mind and for the first time I don't have a plan or an idea of what to do about it and it bugs the hell out of me."

"How about you trust me, I know it's difficult for you to put your confidence and faith into something you have no control over, but I want you to trust me. Believe me when I tell you I won't let you down, and you have my word on that."

"Ok princess, I'm going to trust you." He said as she smiled and gave him a hug and he lovingly hugged her back
"I'm sorry for everything, I promise I will do whatever you want to make it up to you, I want you to be happy."

"You really mean it?" She asked looking up at him

"Of course, I'm trusting you to make the right decision, whatever you need."

"Can I go tour some colleges?"

"No problem, when do you wanna go?"

"Right now." She said eagerly while sitting up as he looked at his watch

"Ooh does it have to be right now, I have a meeting in fifteen minutes."

"Ok that's fine, we can go after."

"Fine, where would you like to go?"

"I was looking up some information on Northwestern University in Easton, I think I may want to go there." She said as Dominic was walking into the room

"You know what sweetheart, instead of you anxiously waiting around for me to finish up my meeting, how about your uncle take you instead."

"Ok that's sounds even better." She smiled as they both stood up

"Dominic, could you take Bella to Northwestern University in Easton, she wants to tour the school."

"Easton? That's three hours away." He said as Michael gave him a piercing stare and put his hand on Dominic's shoulder
