I woke up to texts blowing up my phone from a random number
Unknown: GET HOME NOW
It was my mother
I couldent take it anymore I blocked the number.
I tried to fall back asleep but I couldn't
I started to cry
Carl woke up
"Hey hey what's wrong?" He asked rubbing my back .
I covered my face
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to I just want to make you feel better" he said still rubbing my back
I whimpered and then sighed
"Nobdoy really knew that my mom was abusive except for my dad and I, I never wanted to tell anyone because she would hurt me more. It's been 7 years. My dad got a divorce with my mom when I was 7. My mom moved from a pent house in New York to the Southside of Chicago. I was happy I would never see her again but then my dad got into a car crash and died. And the in the first five minutes that I was there she slapped me and pulled my hair and then- that guy or whatever almost killed me and now texts from her screaming at me to come home so she can just beat me more" I said sobbing and covering my face again
"I'm so sorry" he said hugging me
I fell into Carl's arms
He rocked me back and forth sayin "shh shh it's going to be okay. Don't cry baby"
He repeated it until I fell asleep
