Two Paths (Sequel to Why Me)

Damn Kabuto got ugly

*Naruto's POV*

As we defeated the last beast more Zetsu clones came and started to attack us. I looked over in the direction that Mariah was in to see her leaning over a figure looking sad. I noticed that it was that guy that was with us and helped defeat some of the bijuu. Tears were pouring down Mariah's face and anger took over.

She attacked Madara but then she stopped and started to disappear. Once she was gone Madara hit the ground in anger cursing to himself. He caused Mariah so much pain..............just thinking about it sent anger through me..... I don't know who that guy was to Mariah but to see her that sad.......it made me want to kill Madara even more.

I started to wonder where she went though. I guess she was going to where Kabuto was to stop his jutsu.  Madara then got out of his angered state and returned to where he was before. He was getting more and more powerful ever since we defeated the bijuu. There was nothing that we could do for now since we're preoccupied.

So far no one has been severely injured. The only thing that we all had to worry about was our chakra levels. Now that Mariah isn't here now we couldn't depend on her to replenish our chakra like she did with Kakashi-sensei and Gai-sensei.

*Third Person with Mariah*

Mariah soon appeared to the location where Kabuto was by searching for his chakra. She appeared undetected behind Itachi and Sasuke who were standing side by side in the dark. Sasuke had Susano activated. Mariah kept out of site to observe the fight. She couldn't help but stare at the two. The man she loved and his brother working together; she thought she'd never see the day.

"You can't be that shy. You are hiding your body now. Not just you head?" Sasuke said. "Are you trying to escape by sloughing off your skin? Looks like you are no more than a piece of crap that got what's left by Orochimaru."

"Sasuke don't underestimate me..... Although it's true that the bounty money for catching me in the bingo book is way less than yours, not to mention compared to Orochimaru." Kabuto replied.

"Right. It doesn't make much sense if you hide for this reason."

"Be careful, Sasuke. I see chakra everywhere....I can't figure out which is the real one." Itachi warned.

Seeing Itachi in person again sent happiness through Mariah. Finally he's back but she knows that it was only a mere jutsu that had brought him back. Kabuto was bragging about how he got abilities from various people including Sasuke's former teammates.

"Under the guidance of the Sage of white snake, I trained myself and gain that ability! I finally surpassed Orochimaru-sama!" Kabuto said from a snakes mouth.

"Ew.......that's nasty...." Mariah whispered.

Sasuke's Susano shot three arrows towards Kabuto's location but missed.

"No hurry, Sasuke!" Itachi shouted.

They both looked over to see Sasuke's arrows miss.

"My arrow........he dodged it?!"

"The perceptual ability has been so much upgraded....I always have the force of nature help me."

And blah blah blah Jyugo clan.....

"He finally found the source where that ability came from..that's Ryuchidou. Orochimaru-sama tried to gain that ability immediately....but, he hadn't found the right body that could bear that ability....so even he couldn't become a true sage in the end just like me!"

Kabuto came out of the snakes mouth looking like a pale scaly horned ugly devil thingy.

"I see. I was right indeed." Itachi said.
