This is another Found Poem. It came from my Chemistry text book, of all things! I wrote it during banned book week and it ended up sort of being about censorship. Enjoy!

Ban This Poem

My mission in writing this key

To particles called atoms

And humans who work in a laboratory

Chemists

With relatively little time across a given period

Are naming home

Science is a framework

An inspired vision

Of chemicals in human blood

They test their ideas over a specific period of time

Transition, interpretation

Atoms combine the representative elements

Expensive and unpleasant,

the changes in the way they are bound together

Human tissue gets married

Scrawled on acid-damaged paper

A chemical reaction

All real processes are irreversible

Surroundings are changed in a permanent way, the effects of corrosion,

Though the atoms themselves are not changed

Now we greatest scientists can stage an introduction

And thus, returned to it's original state,

Does not talk to anyone else.

The concept of activity;

People,

A group,

Reversible and irreversible

Theoretical yield is a tomb

The crumbling of the paper,

A very promising idea?

No

A cemetery

Theoretical, a solitary figure

Even when the system is cycled, thinking eventually

Books are literally falling apart

Our society seems to run almost entirely on batteries,

Human inventions.

The signature of mystics fade

Book covers;

Vulnerable,

Trapped

By hypotheses

Their chemistry changes markedly

To produce a book

The final point, the solution, only temporary;

One striking characteristic,

Different in some fundamental way or ways:

Passion,

Complete understanding.
