Rain
I want to sleep outside in a rainstorm
And taste the lightning in the air.I want the rain to pour over me,
Drenching me to the bone.I want to feel the thunder rumble through my soul,
Singing me to sleep with its deep, harsh lullaby.I want to inhale the storm
And let it fill every inch of me with electricity.Instead I stare longingly through this window
That separates me from its cool breeze,
Wishing I was there rather than here,
Wishing I was the charged air that I cannot even taste
Through these thick, impenetrable walls.
