Chapter 21

“I'm sorry.. its just that.... well I don’t know. I like her, and nothing can change that. Or no one. I'm sorry Danny, I didn’t mean to lead you on, I guess I was just confused.”

“no, you shouldn’t be apologizing. I'm sorry, I didn’t mean to act like a jerk, I was jealous....”

I wrapped my arms around Danny and held on tight. He is one of the few friends I have at school, and I wouldn’t want to lose him. Not now that I lost Chloe.

“anyways, I'm over it izzy.” he said while pulling away from me. He looked away from me and playfully played with his hair.

I chuckled. “Oh, and who would this mystery girl be?” I asked him playfully.

He didn’t say anything, instead he stayed quiet as he looked at me.

“hey cutie” I heard Amanda say as she wrapped her arms around me.

I chuckled. “hey Amanda, whats up?” I asked her.

She knew our deal, maybe not a deal, but the fact that I wasn’t completely for PDA. I'm not really into that public display, no matter who it is.

She placed her chin on my shoulder as she smiled at Danny.

“nothing, just came to say hi to you and Danny.” she said while smiling at him.

He didn’t take his eyes off her either. “hey Mandy” he said while blushing a little.

A light bulb went off in my head.

No freaking way.

I chuckled. “Hey Danny, She's mine” I said while playfully wrapping my arms protectively around Amanda and kissing her on the cheek.

He seemed to turn a darker shade of red as he mumbled his good bye's and left.

I couldn’t stop laughing once he was far away from me.

Amanda pouted slightly as she watched me laugh.

It took me a couple of minutes to control myself before I turned to her with a huge smile on my lips.

“so you and Danny. Humph, I would of never guessed.” I said while chuckling.

Amanda smiled. “nothings going on with us if that’s what you think.” she said defensively, while crossing her hands over her chest.

I continued to smile. “but he likes you, and he's cute, and hes a great person.” I said while leaning against a locker.

She smiled at me, but it was a small shy smile.

“i know” she responded.

I continued to smile, for some reason thinking that she liked someone made me happy. Amanda is a nice person, and I know she deserves someone who will be good to her. Even if it is a guy.

(A.N. This made me laugh. A lot of my lesbian friends like to say that being with a girl is much better than being with a guy because they understand each other. And when someone gets a boyfriend they say, 'he's cool. But he's still a guy blah' I always laugh)

I held onto Amanda's soft waist as she pressed herself to me. It was a sudden thing, like one second we were talking about Danny and the next thing I know she's throwing herself at me.

“What the Fuck, I cant even take a small walk through the halls without finding something disgusting.” I heard kitty say in her annoying voice.

I chuckled as I pulled away from Amanda. She somehow left me a little dazed.

“Do you tell yourself that every time you see your reflection in a mirror?” I asked her, I couldn’t hold in my laughter.

But I heard some one else laugh.

I kept my eyes on Kitty but through my peripheral vision I could see Chloe biting her lip while trying to hold in her laughter.

“ha-ha-ha.” kitty said while scowling at me.

I chuckled. “nice come back Kat. Now if you'll excuse me, I was busy before you interrupted me.” I said while grabbing onto Amanda’s waist and pressing her to me.

“i will leave” she said while turning away from me. “but not because your telling me to, but because I don’t want to throw up at your disgusting display of affection.”

I ignored her as she walked away from me, but I could see the sad look in Amanda’s eyes.

“she's such a bitch!” she said pretty loudly.

I hugged her, not in a sensual way but in a caring way. “the way I see it is that love is love Amanda, no matter what sex it is. She's just stupid.” I said really knowing what was on her mind.

She put on a brave smile as she turned to me. “i know.” she seemed to think for a couple of seconds before giggling. “did you see the angry look that she had while you hugged me?”

I tilted my head to the side. “Kitty?” I asked her, in complete disbelief.

“no silly” she said while playfully hitting my arm. “Cloe” she said while smiling.

I chuckled. “nah, I didn’t see. I didn’t want to see.” I said, my voice turning a little sad.

“oh” she said while hugging me.

I looked down at my watch and smile. “come one, lets go outside” I said while pulling Amanda’s hand and walking out into the lunch area. It was lunch, I just convinced her to stay with me for a couple of seconds inside the building.

She smiled as she walked behind me.

As soon as we reached out I smiled.

There was a huge banner in front of me, black with white lettering that read. 'will you be my date to the dance Amanda?'

there were also a whole bunch of balloons, and Mary was standing near the door holding a bouquet of roses. White and red roses. I walked up to her, thanked her and grabbed the roses.

I then walked to Amanda and gave her the flowers while kissing her on the cheek.

Amanda was red, but I could see just how happy she was.

“yes” she said while wrapping her arms around me.

She was silently crying. “i would love too”

I couldn’t help but pick her up and twirl her around as the people around us started to clap.

I felt happy, not because was starting to like Amanda, but because I knew that I was making a great friend.

But just before placing Amanda back down on the ground I couldn’t help but look at Chloe who was now standing a couple of feet away from Lisa. The frown on her lips made my heart ache.

Let her be jealous, I thought to myself, that means the plan is working.
