Chapter 15:

// Hailey’s POV //

It’s been two months since James left for his work. At first he keeps calling me from time to time then it turns to one a week but I’m fine with it because I keep myself busy too.

And Emily is too attached with me that sometimes she just brag into my house anytime she wants buts it’s really fine with me.

Two months away from James makes me miss him more.

It will be just a month and summer break will be it. I’m so waiting for it.

Today, I’m busy to finish my term paper to be submitted at the end of this semester. I think Emily is busy too because she’s not bothering me today.

I’m in my room when I heard a scream downstairs. What happen to Grace now?

I set aside my papers and hurriedly go down to see what happen to her.

She’s lying on the couch and breathing really hard.

I go near her and ask her what happen but she just keeps on crying.

“Grace.. What really happen?” I rub her back gently.

She sits up making me sit beside her, I hand her the box of tissues as she take it.

She wipes her eyes, her mascara were totally off.

“What happen?” I ask again.

“Todd breaks up with me.” She sobs real hard.

“What?!” I whisper-yell.

She didn’t say anything but cry really loud like a kid losing her lollipop.

I sympathy her by just staying by her side.

They’ve been around 3 years by next month. How could they just break things up? I feel sorry for my best friend.

It’s been five hours and she’s crying for that straight five hours and I was just watching her couldn’t think of what should I do.

Later, she just narrowly looks at me and wipes her tears off. She stands up and rushes to her room.

“Hey, what are you thinking to do?” I shouted.

She won’t answer that makes me worried.

I knock on her door but still no answer.

Please tell me she doesn’t kill herself. Please, please. Don’t.

I knock repeatedly until it opens. She’s dress up with make up on.

“W-where are you going?” I ask, looking at her.

“Looking for a job?” She state, unsure.

“w-what kind of job?”

“Chill. I just want to be pre-occupiied.” She taps my shoulder then go on her way.

I just nod wishing her luck.

Its’ already 8 in the evening and Grace I still out.

In an hour I’ll be going to my work so I just left her a message and go to my work.

Today I wore a really fit dress that show off almost all of me. Ugh! How I hate doing this but I just need to.

I sat on the counter and order a drink for me, to boost me confidence.

Later, someone get near me and sit beside.

“Hi. May I help you?” I ask, doing my jo.

“Yes, you actually can.” He smirks, ordering a drink too.

“Well, what can I help?”

“You’re beautiful. Your body is so oozing.” He says.

“Excuse me?” I was a little bit ashamed and mad on the way he talks.

“It’s a compliment, chick.” He winks at me.

“Anyway, I’m Stephen.” He sticks he’s hands out.

This guy is a little bit young that the others I usually entertain. He’s just about same age as James I guess.

“Hai– I mean, Gail.” I shake his hand.

“Nice name.” He says.

“Thanks.” I simply smile, being friendly.

“Anyway, are you always here? I just seen you once in a while? I’m always looking and asking for you but haven’t exactly know your name.”

He’s always looking for me? Wait, what’s with this guy?

“Just to remind you. I’m not doing sex.” I say straight forward.

He laughs then takes a quick shot on his drink.

“Do you think I’m looking a girl for one night stand?” He chuckles.

I nod can’t look at this eyes because I’m kinda ashamed on what I just say.

“To tell you, I’m not. But that would be a great experience though I’m single and I bet up are to.” He says, cockily.

“I’m not.” I mutter.

“You’re taken yet you work in this kind of place?” He kinda yells.

“Can you just calm down a bit?” I ask ashamed.

“I was just shocked. What kind of guy is he letting girl work in this place full of horny people.” He mocks.

“He.. He doesn’t know.” I look down, tugging with my fingers.

“W-what??” He shouts.

“You can lower your voice you know.”

“And were not that even close to lecture me.” I added.

I was about to go when he grab my arm and turn me around to face him.

“What?” I spat.

“I have a deal with you.” He smirks.
