"No." He had rejected your request. It was the moment your fragile heart had turned frozen and just smashed into small pieces, until they were unable to be seen. You hid it all with a small smile and your voice pitching higher.

You gave him a love letter under a week ago, which he gladly read in your supervision. You felt so happy to see him smiling and looking at the folded paper over and over again. It never bored him out and it certainly didn't bore you to see him the way he acted. It was cute. His smiles would light up the world you see in your eyes but in others, he was just an ordinary student. His kindness would spark through your friendship as he gave you sarcastic remarks from time to time but still, he was just an ordinary boy in everyone elses' eyes.

You couldn't find what you did wrong to cause this to your vital organ nor you couldn't find the answer to be happy again.

The next day came and the day after and the day after that. Hoseok was seen around in the corridors, classes and even outside the school building. This was unusual as you normally get to rarely seem him except for Lunch and a few of your lessons. The conversations between you both were starting to fade and the news about the incident spread quicker than wildfire. Even the pathways you took were no longer the same and the eye contact was soon to be dead with embarrassment growing in each of your pupils. You had him to blame as girls who even despised the boy started talking to him.

He was popular and you were an outcast, even being within a small group.

"(Y/N)." Areum, one of your close friends called your name. "Are you listening? Hello?" She waved a hand infront of you, hoping to see a reaction coming from your face. Still, you looked pale and tired as ever, letting out a sigh.

"I'm okay. Don't follow me, I'm going to get some fresh air." You said with a saddened frown plastered on your face. You learned not to smile until you found your true happiness. Faith was the only thing that kept you alive even with such a tiny piece being left behind.

"Y'know I once heard Hoseok's trying to impress someone- Ah! What was that for!?" Boyoung exclaimed, rubbing the back of her calf under the table. Areum had kicked her quite ferociously as she gave Boyoung a serious look. Jahyun couldn't help but to snicker at Boyoung's reaction.

"I'd prefer not to hear his name, thanks. It's better off I don't see you guys either if you're going to talk about him." You got ready to leave the room with your food tucked away on the corner of the table and your bag being thrown onto your back. No one stopped you. No one helped you. They let you be free, hoping that someday you'll be back to normal.

You rushed to wherever your legs took you. The performing arts practice rooms, the girls' bathroom, empty corridors and even where you handed Hoseok the note. It all seemed like forever since you two had been talking. Hoseok didn't want to hurt you no longer and so he gave you time to heal. You on the other hand needed him, but you couldn't even bring yourself to get close to his presence.

"Omo. I'm so sorry." His voice was familiar. The one that you once heard, the one that was fading and the one that you wouldn't decide to either hear or ignore. "It's my fault. I should have been looking at where I was goin-"

You met contact with the boy. Eye and physical. At that moment, the spark was starting to lighten up. Flames bursting out of your heart and air escaping from your lungs and back into them. There was nothing you could feel. No pain, no happiness, not even sadness. Without him, you were emotional. With him, you were emotionless. Just what made you this way? And is there any possible way to get it back? You quickly shuffled away before passing by his stone hard body.

"Wait!" Hoseok had grabbed your arm before you could hide away from his reach. Failing, you gave up on trying to break free. "I miss you. Let's be friends. Come back."

You sighed, hanging your head low. It was a dilemma you couldn't get out of without Hoseok's help. Whether you tried to forget him or not, nothing would work. His grasp loosened and your body tensed up. You were ready to throw a rant at him, to tell him how much you hate him for making you this way, but you knew that was wrongdoing.

"I need you, girl."

That was it. You had spun around on your heel, facing Hoseok with teary eyes. All you could do was plant your face between his breastplate, sobbing into his chest desperately. A small, sympathetic smile formed on his lips as he comforts you. Him playing with your hair was your favourite thing and he did just that. It had calmed you right down immediately.

"I'm sorry, Hoseok. I really am." You choked out through your coughs and saliva getting stuck in your throat. His embrace, his presence was everything that you needed right now. You missed everything about him. His touch, his scent, his smile and his voice.

"Don't be, my love."
