(1-30-10)

The fire's burnt out,

Flames flickering to ashes,

Sparks caught in my eyes,

I'll hold them in my lashes.

Keep them smoldering,

A safe haven for my dreams,

'Cause without the memories,

My visions wake me in screams.

I'll stop crying deadly tears,

So that the fires will not sway,

Keeping you on the edge of my soul,

So that your love with always stay.

I won't follow any directions,

That I should let you go,

Because without you in my life,

I would never have known a sister's love.

So turn from light to shadow,

If you think you really have to,

And let my new life shine through my gaze,

But know I'll always love you.

It used to be about a love of mine, but I made it about my sister and my memory of her instead (though I'm not sure how recently).
