Chapter 8

Kaleigh's Point of view

The first notes of the song streamed through the speakers, filling my ears with the heavenly sound of guitar. Then Tyler Hubbard's sweet voice came though, and I sang along.

You were a whip around town

Tinted windows down

Alabama bound

Dixieland delight

You were a summer silhouette

A Sunday cigarette

A hand me down cassette

A turn on a dirt road dime

You were a rock that

Thrown back

George Strait tee too tight

Can't get you out of my head

Out of, out of my head

Out of my headphones

It's like the record stopped spinning

And you're gone again and

I'm stuck here alone

Can't get you out of my head

Out of, out of my head

Out of my headphones

I turn it up, you turn me on

It takes me back

It takes all night long

I'm the Jack without the rocks

A sun without a drop

A quarter in the slot of an unplugged jukebox joint

And I'm a Gibson missin' all of my damn strings

I finished singing the song and threw a smile to Brantley who was glancing at me with the biggest smile plastered on his face.

"That was bad ass!" He exclaimed laughing.

"Oh was it now?" I asked propping my feet up on the dash.

"Trust me, it was." He smirked and went back to driving.

Pretty soon we were at the parts store and he got out, but I stayed in the truck because I still felt the food coma. I don't know why but I seriously loved Denny's, their food is awesome! I reached under my seat to grab my cd case in hope of finding another cd to put in and listen too while Brantley was in the store, but before I could someone knocked on the side of the truck.

I jumped and hit my head on glove box and swore as I sat up rubbing my head. My eyes widened at who I saw outside the truck.
