Spencer's POV
April 28th
5:00 a.m

Spencer: Toby!

Toby: are you ok?

Spencer: I'm in labor!

Toby: How long have you been awake

Spencer: A couple hours, I've been counting the contractions. They are a minute long and only 4 minutes apart.

This better be actual labor this baby is already a week past his due date and I feel huge.

Spencer: Oh and my water just broke.

Toby: I'll grab the bags. I guess we are going to the hospital.

*In The Car*

Spencer: Why is there so much traffic!!

Toby: It shouldn't be that much longer babe. You got this.

Spencer: If these cars don't move soon I'm going to be giving birth in a car.

Toby: We are almost there stop worrying.

Spencer: I feel like I'm almost all the way dilated already. We need to hurry.

Toby: Okay we are here. Stay here and I will go get you a wheelchair.

*Front Desk*
Toby: Hi. My wife is Spencer Cavanaugh. She is in labor

Receptionist: Okay your in room 214.

Toby: Thank you

Spencer: I still love it when you call me your wife.

Toby: We are having a baby!

Spencer: yeah I guess We are having a baby!

Doctor: Hello Mrs. Cavanaugh

I interrupt her immediately

Spencer: You can call me Spencer

Doctor: Spencer, it looks like you are already 10 cm dilated so I am not able to give you an epidural.

Spencer: That's okay. I'll push through the pain.

Toby: You can do it. You're strong. Don't forget that you used to be a Hastings.

Spencer: I have to think of it as a competition.

Doctor: Okay Spencer I am going to have you push now

I scream through the pain and squeeze Toby's hand. Opening I don't break it

Doctor: Looks like your baby is pretty big so you are going to need a couple more pushes.

Toby: You got this Spence

Doctor: One more and you have your baby boy

Spencer: AHHHHHHHHHH. I don't know if I can do this.

Doctor: Last one! You're so close

Doctor: And here is your baby boy!

Spencer: Why isn't he crying! What's wrong? I don't here a cry.

Toby: Excuse me what's going on?

Doctor: Your son has a blockage in his air way. We are going to have to take him into surgery right away so he is able to breath on his own. It is a very short surgery and he will recover in no time.

Spencer: No! How could this happen!

Toby: They have it under control. You need to breathe so you recover. You did a lot of hard work just now.

Spencer: The second he gets out of surgery you have to go see him because I can't.

Toby: I promise

*2 hours later*

Doctor: Your baby is in the NICU right now. We were able to fix the blockage and he should be perfectly fine. However since air way blockages are so dangerous I would like to keep him in the NICU for observation. That way if anything happens we can fix it right away.

Spencer: Can Toby go see him?

Doctor: Yes. I will bring him right now and you need to sleep.
