CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

The wedding was simple and pretty, Deni looked so beautiful and SAm glowed, not just because he had Deni on his arm.
Staringa t him right there before the altar…it was everything she imagined it to be. When it wa stime to say their vows, Deni began;
"Sam….my friend, my world, my heart…….I cant promise to never hurt you or to never be a nuisance, but I do promise you this, I would love nad cherish you forver till death comes for me…..i wish to be your friend and confidante, your wife and your one true love……'she began to sob and it was tuching.
"……I promise to take care of you the way you have taken care of me, and I promise to be there for you the way you have been there for me, I pray that God gives me grace to build our home and fill it with kids and babies and so much joy, I love you and I always will, for better or worse, for pprer or for richer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part" She put the ring on his finger and he smiled.
"Denise, I promise to love and honour you as a husband should, to take care of you, to be with you, to guide and protect, to love and to shield, I promise to love you always  in good times and in bad, for better or for worse, for poorer or for richer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part" He placed the ring on her finger and smiled at her then wiped a tear from her cheek as the crowd went 'awing' they giggled.
"By the power vested in me, I pronounce thee husband and wife, you may for the first time kiss the pride"
Without hesitating, Sam drew close and kissed her in a way she had never been kissed before and for a moment she forgot where she was till he broke away and smiled.
"Damn" She mouthed only so he could read her lips. He tried hard not to laugh but as they walked out of the church he felt fulfilled as they waved at friends and family, it was the perfect moment but not as perfect as 'the first time'…..one word to describe it was….magical.

Deni discovered she was pregnant six months into their marriage and through out the journey he was there, through the emotional breakdowns and the tough times and the morning sicknesses and swollen feet, he was always there rushing to her when he needed her. When they dicovered they were having a baby boy they were overjoyed but they couldn’t settle on a name.
October 5th was the day she went into labour the pain was madening and her scraems were deafening. Fortunately Genie had been visiting with Gina and her son, Harry was away, somewhere else in Europe. Sam was so thankful the girls were there. They stayed wih her in the room and Sam was there when their baby arrived. He wept holding that little cute blanket of love in his arms.
"He's perfect" He said to his wife. She smiled back.
"What are we naming him?" Sam asked.
"Edward, that was my father's name"
"Edward it is, welcome to the world, Edward" Sam said as he cuddled his baby.

Edward grew to be a pretty handsome boy with a lot of hair and the cutest brown eyes, he had so pretty eyes you couldn’t notice him and miss his eyes. He was so handsome and so sweet, Sam loved his son and everyone at church did. He did little cute stuff like sit with his father as he played the piano at church or on his lap or jump up when Sam went up to sing. At age seven, they discovered he  had the same musical talent his father had and Sam immediately began to teach him how to play the piano, at twelve years, Sam no longer had to play at church, Sam was doing that, he was a child prodigy with an amazing talent, everything seemed perfect, but that was not to last………
It was on a friday when Deni had a call that Edward had been rushed to the hospital from school, when she arrived at the hospital Sam wal already there…….
"What ahppened?" She said.
"Sam what happened to Edward, where is he?"
But Sam couldn’t talk. In her heart she knew the worst had happened, Edward hd just passed out and that was it, he never woke up again. Deni's knees became wea and she fell to the ground sobbing, Sam tried to calm he rbut she just wouldn’t listen, she just wouldn’t stop crying. For weeks all she did was cry, she grew so lean, she hardly ate, not because she didn't want to but her body just refused anything it was a sif her system was shutting down.
It hurt Sam to see her like that, she was completely broken. She loved Eward so much and now he was gone. Sam wa sscared to leave her side and it disrupted his work, he would wake up to find eh rcrying in the middle of the night and had to console her, he hardly got any sleep but despite it all, Deni would always appear at church and listen to the thousand condolensces, she would be at Heart to Hearta nd receive a thousand hugs, she would perform her duties as a wife and not argue, she would do everything she was supposed to do but sometimes it was hard, even praying was hard, she tried not to pray and end up saying things like accusing God or asking him why so she forced herself to learn to pray the way David did, one afternoon, Sam  arrived at his driveway to find his neighbors standing right in the driveway staring at his house, he got out greeted them nad immediately he knew why…..Deni was screaming. He rushed in only to realize she had been praying she was sweating and praying so hard she didn't care if she was disturbing she just had to do what her heart was telling her to do…."He allowed her pray and when she was done she beagn to sob, he walke dto her, knelt down and hugged her as she cried.
"I'm tired Sam, I'm so tired……" She said.
"I know baby, its going to be okay, God is not unfaithful to forget us, he would come through"
And he did come through. Two weeks later she was pregnant again, she was scared of losing the baby again but it wasn’t just one baby but three.
Nine months later, they welcomed two girls and a boy who looked so much like Edward, they named him Mark Edward and the girls, Sadie-Lynn and Sue-Michelle, popularly known as Ed, Sadie and Sue. They were the prettiest kids, adored by everyone and just like Edward once was, Ed was exactly the same, musically inclined but he didn't sing, Sadie and Sue, the youngest were the singers, they were a choir on their own and their voices were divine. They brought so much light and comfort to their parents and there was not a day that went by that they didn't thank God for such a  gift.
Sadie, like her father was humorous, her grandparents adored her because she loved to imitate her grandfather when he preached. Sue just loved to sing while her brother played the piano, the triplets sang at church at school at events, their gifts saw them going from place to place blessing people with their gifts. Deni took them to the hospital from time to time so they could sing for the sick people and they always looked forward to the Graham triplets coming over. Sue befriended a boy who had cancer, Riley, she always wanted to see Riley. Her act touched her parents but Deni was scared she would have to prepare her daughter for what death felt like but she was wrong, Riley fought through and overcame the cancer and their bond just kept growing stronger.
Sam and Deni sat on a blanket at the park, the very same spot they had once been as they watched their kids play.
"We did a great job raising them didn't we?"
"I hope you'll say the same thing when they become teenagers"
Denis aid and he laughed.
"Our kids are too precious to give us problems"
"My mom said the same thing but you are calm and hardly the rebel, I'm sure they'll take that aspect"
"Lets hope so" He kissed his wife.
"Sam we are in public…"
"I know" He laughed and she did too.
"Mummy!, Sue ran over to her parents.
"What is it honey?"
"The balloon got stuck in a tree"
"Really, and it didn't burst?"
"No" She shook her head.
"Okay lets go get it out" Sam stood and lifted his daughter unto his shoulders andw alked away with them Deni watched them go and smiled…
"Geez, I am the luckiest alive"
She thought
