Duncan sighed as he stood outside his apartment door. Every night was the same thing, they would argue, she would make him leave, and obviously he always ended up coming back later in the night.

He opened the door and took off his jacket.

"Gwen?"

All the lights were off and everything was quiet. He took off his shoes and sat on the couch, he took a deep breath and rubbed his hands through his hair. Four years they had been together, but now it seemed those years seemed to go down the drain.

He looked over at the night stand next to him, he smiled when he saw the picture that stood on top of it. It was the group photo from the summer camp they had met at.

"Everything was so simple then."

He smiled at the thought of it all, back to when their biggest relationship worry was if they were gonna get seats next to each other in the dining hall.

He flinched when he heard the front door open.

"Oh, didnt know you'd be here." Gwen said as she hung her small black purse by the door. She was wearing a short, tight black dress and black heels he had gotten her for Christmas last year.

Duncan smirked, "Neither did I. Where've you been?"

Gwen sighed and sat down the couch next to him, taking off her shoes, "Well after you left Bridge called and asked if I wanted to go out with her and Courtney. You remember Courtney right?"

"How could I forget?" He chuckled to himself.

Gwen shot him a glare, "Whats that supposed to mean?"

"Shes just very, different I guess."

"Hows that?" Gwen turned to face him and crossed her arms.

Duncan shrugged, "She's very stubborn, voices her opinion on fucking everything."

"You've met her like twice." Gwen laughed.

"I know but both times she's never failed to surprise me with her stubborness." Duncan smirked.

Gwen chuckled, "Im gonna go get changed, you coming to bed?"

Duncan nodded, "I'll be there in a sec."

As Gwen walked away he couldn't help but smile to himself, thinking about the first argument he had with Courtney.

"So how long have you known Bridgette and Geoff?" The brunette asked him while pouring another cup of soda.

Duncan smirked, "Since highschool. Me and Geoff have been buddies since we were kids though."

Courtney smiled, "Thats cool. Im really glad Bridgette invited me tonight, I just moved here a few weeks ago and its been hard meeting people."

"Now why's that?" Duncan said while leaning against the kitchen counter.

Courtney took a deep breath, "I dont really get out that often so. I mostly just stay home and read or just work. Basic stuff I guess."

Duncan chuckled, "Dork."

Courtney rolled her eyes, "Oh yeah, so what do you do all day, Macho Man?"

Duncan shrugged, "Help my brother run his tattoo shop, work at the mechanics shop and then on my free time I disappoint my parents by breaking the law about 70 times a day."

Courtney huffed, "Wow. Im in awe in how interesting your life is. Please tell me more about you breaking the law, is jay-walking that fun?"

"Better than staying inside my house all day and watching the clock tick."

Courtney rolled her eyes, "Im sure. Have fun getting arrested for speeding, or you know, something really dangerous like parking in a handicap spot at that awesome car shop you work at."

Duncan smirked, "Trust me, I will."

He watched the brunette walk away, he couldn't help but stare.

She was gorgeous.
