Thirteen
By: Hectic_Writer
They say 13 is the unluckiest number
But I beg to disagree
Because when I was thirteen
I finally became free
When I was 13, I remember my mother always asking,
"Why don't you talk to me anymore?"
But how can I even tell her that,
I wasn't the perfect daughter that she used to adore
I was always afraid being alone in the dark
Until I turned 13 then I met her
Everything was clearer for me then
Even if it didn't made anything better
It was thirteen when I was finally free
But no not from my parents, the law or my social ties
I was finally free from the internal battle with myself
I accepted who I am-the one with no disguise
Because I was thirteen when I met her
The girl who loves wearing beanies on her head
Who helped me see things in a different perspective
Lend a shoulder in every tear shed
So no, 13 is the luckiest number
Well at least for me, it is
Because man, I was finally happy
I wouldn't trade anything for this
