The Beatles are one of those quintessential bands. They really need no itroduction or backstory since they are so well known all these years later. They are continuing to be loved, respected and their music carried on from each generation since they were first formed as a band in the early 1960s. Even though they have had a few line up changes over the years with Stuart Sutcliff and Pete Best joining then later leaving the band as well as the death of a few members, John Lennon and George Harrison. Even with those losses and the band no longer making new music in many generations - it doesn't deter the fans of the generation before them to introduce the original music to the next generation.

Thanks to BeatleMania in 1964 coming to the US or we wouldn't have many bands that the Beatles music had ultimately influenced. The Monkees being one of them. Many fans of the Beatles are Monkees fans as well. My favorite John Lennon line was "The Monkees are nothing like the Beatles, they're more like the Marx Brothers!"

For me personally : My favorite songs of the band are a lot of their early hits and a few off each album they released. My all time favorite song would have to be Yesterday, the lyrics are so simple yet, meaningful.

My favorite Beatle member has always been Ringo Starr.
