In the 1950's Swanson introduced the revolutionary quick dinner for one person or each family member could each have a different meal without the Mom slaving over a hot stove to make a few different choices. The TV Dinner, you could bake it in your oven (Tidbit:The tin would cause it to spark and cause a fire if you tried cooking these in the microwave so it was oven baking only.) and bring it into the living room put it on a snack table and eat your meal in front of the television. ( I will cover snack tables in the next chapter)

The 1960's and 70's saw a change in what was served in the TV Dinner, adding a dessert and making the portion size a little bit bigger as well.
